ticipate in a song -fest. Lori Vincent

About People You Know
The great Easter egg hunt will be
held at the Lambton Heritage
Museum on Saturday, April 6. Adults
$1.50 and children under 12 free.
The Parkhill Silver Blades Skating
Club held a successful program on
Story hour tor children between the
ages of three and five will begin again
at the Grand Bend Library on Friday,
April 12 at 10 a.tn.
Mrs. Susy 'Turnbull has volunteered
to do this six-week story hour session
since 1 will be working on a new
Library program called "Catch Them
in the Cradle" 1 books for babies ►.
Mrs. 'Turnbull will be using one of the
many kits provided by Lambton
County Library. AB the stories, finger
plays, activities and crafts that are
needed for the program are included
in the kit.
Participating in story hour is one of
the best opportunities for young
children to begin developing their in-
tellect, imagination, self expression
and language skills. !fearing stories
helps build a favourable attitude
toward books and reading. Since
books are used as learning resources
throughout life, a good attitude about
books is important.
The stories, action rhymes, and
social interaction will expand a
child's verbal language skills. Many
of the activities will also stimulate a
child's creative capacity.
A library, program such as this one
provides the young child with a
pleasurable learning experience
which complements the other learn-
ing experiences of the home and the
nursery school.
To register your child for this pro-
gram call Dawn Crabe at 243-2054 or
238-2067. Registration will be limited
to 15 children.
Evening U('W
The evening unit of the UCW met on
March 25. Two meditations were read
by Marlene Brenner.

Marys on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. UCW

invited to attend. The guest speaker
will be Bill Brady and Mrs. Sticks on
the theme of caring and sharing.
Bring your own name tag and
registration is only 25 cents.
The group discussed the question of
donating organs, self denial and mis-
sion service money. The April
meeting will be cancelled so that the
ladies will be able to attend the
special events meeting in St. Marys.
The meeting closed with
benediction.
