Cash crop course A new year turns our thoughts to a new crop year. 1984 was certainly not a perfect year as far as crops were concerned. We will want to fine-tune our cropping program for this year there are new varieties on the scene. new herbicide combinations for weed control, changing fertilizer conditions . and increased market opportunities. An excellent short course is being offered this winter to all cash -crop producers on cash crops. Nick Whyte 'from Seaforth is co-ordinating the course and has arranged a very in- teresting program of speakers. The course is being held at the Clin- ton Agricultural Office every Monday for six weeks from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The course has already begun, but there are four remaining sessions you may wish to attend. Monday, January 21 - Weed Iden- tification and Control, Conservation Tillage, Seed Production - By Glenn Nott. Monday. January 28 - Crop Produc- tion and Marketing, Seed Production - Bev Hill. Varna, Crop Marketing - Hill Strong. Monday. February 4 - Corn and Soy- bean Production - Glenn Hayter. The course will be a good opportuni- ty to discuss cash crop production and pick up some good ideas for 1985. Con- tact the O.M.A.F. Office in Clinton or Centralia College to, enroll in the course.
