E*tiot.r 235-0660 CAR REPAIR HEADACHES 1 Symptom # 1 You have had your car repaired at six facilities during the last six months and you still have the same problem? Cure Contact your local CAA office for the location of the closest AARS facility who can handle that type of work in your area. (In this area it's Frayne Chev-Olds ). All repairs carried out by approved facilities are covererd by a 6,400 km, 90 day guarantee. It I t 1t You were given a verbal estimate at 9:00 a.m. of $50.00 to repair your vehicle, and it is now 4:30 p.m., and the total bill is $375. Cure Frayne Chev-Olds wilt (on request) provide you with a written estimate prior to commencing repairs on your vehicle. Symptom # 3 • You have had repairs carried out on your vehicle and you are not entirely convinced that either all parts were replaced or needed. Cure At your request, Frayne will return to you all old parts that were replaced, providing they are not subject to exchange or "recore" charges. Symptom # 4 You had repairs carried out last week at an AARS facility and you are not happy with the operation of the vehicle. Cure Contact your local CAA office and describe your area of concern with AARS personnel. Every AARS facility has agreed to abide by the decision of the CAA in the event of a dispute between a member and that facility. Symptom # 5 You are on vacation in another province and your car over -heats and you don't know which garage can repair the vehicle efficiently. Cure Contact the local CAA office, and they will direct you to the closest AARS facility in your area. Keep in mind that all standards that apply at the approved facility in your home town also apply to the facility who will be carrying out this emer- gency repair for you. Remember the AARS pro- gram is operational from coast to coast in Canada. Symptom # 6 You are on vacation in another province and need to have repairs carried out to your vehicle and are not sure if the facility you have chosen is an approved garage. Cure a) Look for the 4 x 4 illuminated sign that identi- fies approved facilities. Remember that only the facilities who have met the strict CAA standards can become part of the AARS program. b) Look for the "Code of Practice" supplied by the CAA to all approved facilities. This document identifies the areas of responsibility agreed upon by the garage. Symptom # 7 You identify an AARS facility and are not certain if they are equipped to handle the repairs on your vehicle. Cure Look for the "service category" on the sign: 1 spanner identifies a limited service facility 2 spanner identifies a medium service facility 3 spanner identifies a full service facility Another sign identifies facilities who specialize in certain areas of Auto Repair, e.g., brakes or air conditioning, etc. .•"-
