UCW meets

The United Church Women met in
the church basement and the
Remembrance I)ay worship service
was led by Yvette MacGregor. The bi-
ble reading was John 15:1117. She
read a reading from the newspaper.
"Abide with Me" was sung atter
which the ottering was received. The
worship was closed with the reading
of In Fla ncters F'ietd-
1t was nioved and seconded that the
cost of the quilt made for the bazaar
be $200.00 The quilt will be displayed
in the bank before the bazaar.
Gertrude Rosser gave a report of
the cards she had sent to the sick and
bereaved during the month.
The units each worked on a project
for the bazaar.
'CW meet
December 11 the United Church
Women met for their pot -luck
Christmas supper when 35 ladies
were present.
Janice Karr led the Worship ser-
vice. Yvette MacGregor read the
scripture from Luke 2. hymns 51, 65
and 511 were sung. We were favoured
with a duet by Janice and Nancy
Harmer.
The offering was taken and prayer
given by Donna ('ox.
The skit "Choosinga UCW-presi-
dent" was presented by the executive.
President, Mary Clark, received a
request for donations to the Mission
and Services in London. A suggestion
was made that each give $1.25 tonight
if he wished.
It was moved and seconded that we
send $50 for local Christmas needs at
the North Middlesex District High
School - SAC for angels.
The treasurer gave a gratifying
report; and the secretary gave her
yearly report.
Mary Sutherland reported on the
Christmas puddings which turned out
quite successful again this year. She
thanked the people who helped with
the making of the puddings.
Mary ('lark thanked the ladies for
their help during the year.
Happy Gang
The Happy Gang seniors met in the
townhall Wednesday afternoon.
Four tables were playing euchre
with prizes going to Jessie Lewis.
Marjorie Steeper, Janet Rose, Han-
nah Clark, Nora Ross and Jean
McCallum.
For having the highest score in the
euchre from September to December.
Joe Carter received a ten dollar
voucher to he spent at Foodland
grocery store.
Get well cards were signed tor
Florence White and Bill Turnbull.
The next euchre is Wednesday.
January 16.

days in London including New Year's
Day with Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Beierling. She returned home Tues-
day with her son Herb Beierling of
Zurich.

recliner chair; and Marion Sparrow,
crystal bowl.

Robin, London. spent Saturday with

Miss Eleanor Shlmon, %vho has been
vacationing with her family and
friends. left Sunday afternoon for
Nigeria wherf she will continue
teaching.
