At dinner party
Thames Road couple celebrates 35 years

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Cann were
guests at a dinner party Friday even-
ing in honour of their 35th wedding
anniversary.
Those dining at Hessenland with the
honoured couple were Mrs. Mary
Hodgert, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Parker,
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Cann, Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Iiodgert, and Mr. and Mrs.
Reg Hodgert.

to Waterloo area

Visitors•with Mary Rader this past
week have been Mrs. Alice Gill and
Mrs. Colleen Higgs, Ailsa Craig; Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Rader, Ben and Robin,
London; and Miss Edna Willert, Mit-
chell and Mrs. George Webster of
Millgrove.
Stacey and Stephanie Rader spent
several days with their aunt and un-
cle, Kevin and Pauline Barrett.
Joe and Judy Simpson and
Patricia, Mississauga, vacationed
with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Mason.
Mr. and Mrs. Eben Weigand and
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Weigand were on
a bus trip to Gananoque where they
were entertained and spent the night,
then on to Ottawa and the parliament
buildings where they saw the change
of guards and had a tour of the city.
Following a Thousand Isands boat
cruise they went to Kingston for the
ceremonial retreat at Old Fort Henry.
It was a most enjoyable trip.
Susan Ratz, Shipka, spent the
weekend withh- Mrs. Florence
Martene.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader have
returned home following a vacation at
Wasaga Beach.
Rev. and Mrs. M. Mellecke attend-
ed the installation of their daughter
Judith as third grade teacher at Trini-
ty Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio.
Clandeboye group
on Montreal tour
Wilmer and Mary Scott. Jim and
Audrey Scott, Ken Simpson, Sandy
Thompson and Jack Conlin, enjoyed
a tour to Montreal and area, last
week. They left Sunday evening and
returned Wednesday, travelling by
air. The tour was sponsored by the
Middlesex Cattlemen's Association.
Helen and Jim Hearn entertained
their family to a barbecue on Sunday
in honour of Helen's father, GeoQrge
Simpson who was celebrating his45th
birthday. Happy birthday George.
Ingrid and Yvonne Roffel, Edmon-
ton have been visiting their sister and
brother-in-law, Helen and Dale Bulan-
da and little niece Nicolle.
Several ladies from this communi-
ty enjoyed a bus tour Monday with
their Granton neighbours, travelling
to the Ingersoll, Woodstock, Burgess-
ville and Tillsonburg area.
Edie Worthington has returned
from an enjoyable holiday to Quebec
City and other places of interest.

area wedding

Mrs. Florence Hodgins attended the
wedding of Sue Ann Charlton,
daughter of her niece who was united
in marriage to Carl Stephenson, both
of Strathroy. Saturday. The wedding
took place in Bethel Baptist Church,
Strathroy.
Mrs. Alice Koehler, postmistress
has returned home following a vaca-
tion at Rainy River visiting with her
daughter. son-in-law and family.
Tom and Mary Kooy were Saturday
visitors with Mrs. Helen MacDonald,
Lucan where they enjoyed a day of
cards and dinner.
Mrs. Terry Morgan spent (he
weekend with friends •in London.
Terry and fmaily joined them.

day morning.

Later the group returned to the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Reg Hodgert
where they were joined by Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Ryall, Ilderton; Mr. and
Mrs. John Stewart, Alan Hodgert,
Miss Michelle Riehl, Mr. and Mrs.
Ivan Hern and Jeanna, Tim, Erin,
Ryan and Megan Parker, Grant and
Scott Hodgert.
John Stewart spoke of memories of
the wedding day. Several gifts and
best wishes were extended followed
by a buffet luncheon. Happy anniver-
sary Arnold and Marion.

sylvania spent a week and Miss
Carolyn Hardy, Lucan visited recent-
ly with Miss Joanne Hodgert.
