Mohawks to play 1985-86 season in OHA intermediate 'C'
Our first good burst of summer weather should not be very
conducive to thoughts of hockey, but, that's the first item on the
agenda this week.
Doc Campbell reports that the Exeter Mohawks have been ac-
cepted by the Ontario Hockey Association as an intermediate club
to be placed in the Cyclone division.
Other teams in the Cyclone grouping will be Watford, Forest,
Lambeth, Strathroy, Alvinston and another new entry from Port
Stanley.
It is expected an interlocking schedule will be worked out with
teams from the Seaway league. These clubs include Dresden,
Wallaceburg, Walpole Island, Blenheim and Glencoe.
The Mohawks brain trust for the coming season includes
general manager Bob Rowe, contact manager Doc Campbell and
coach Jack Chipchase. Don Yeck of Belmont will be the OHA
convener.
Training camp for the Mohawks is expected to open early in
September at the Ilensall arena.
Sportsfest approaching

The overall Sporisfest co-ordinator is Ilelen Muller. She chang-
ed her name Saturday by getting hitched to Don Thomson, but,
for Sportsfest purposes to avoid any confusion she will continue
to be known by her maiden name.
The amount of entries in most sports is being restricted to 16,
but, it's wide open for individual events such as darts, euchre, lawn
bowling, shuffleboard. tennis and the fun run.

from various parts of the province competing.
A ball hockey playoff tournament goes on the Rec Centre ice

September 6 and 7 and the following weekend it's the Exeter Greys
women's fastball playoff tourney.
B00111's Camp on again
Boys and girls in this area will be interested to know that they
will have an opportunity to attend the 24th annual Boom's Recrea-
tion Camp.
Operated by former Exeter rec director and sports editor of
this newspaper Don Gravett, the camp will go from August 1 to
August 17 at the Camp Menesetung campsite owned by the United
Church of Canada, north of Goderich.
Youngsters attending in previous years have probably already
received a brochure and application form. The deadline for
registration is July 15 and camp will be limited to the first 100
campers accepted.
