Sinasac of Brownsville was held
Wednesday evening July 3 at Calvary
United Church. Hhe will be serving
both Dashwood and Zurich churches.
Rev. Sinasac said he was very
thankful for the fine welcome he
received not only from members of
the church but the village and MPP
Jack Riddell.
Rev. and Mrs. Sinasac have four
children, Esther Lynn, Robbie,
Jonathan and Cherith.
Friedsburg Days Witt be bigger and
better than ever. The committee is
working real hard to make the 125th
birthday of Dashwood an outstanding
success. Come on out - see you there.

Brandon Jonathan, infant son of
Rick and Cathy Skinner was baptiz-
ed Sunday, July 7 in Zion Lutheran
church by Rev. M. Mellecke. Spon-

from University Hospital, London.

John and Kathy Hayter and family
motored to Oshawa last weekend and
spent a few days with Ed and Anne
Nagle and Susan and Chris Baynham.
Meeting with Jim and Susan Guen-
ther and family, they visited the
Toronto Zoo and Wonderland. They
had a great time.
July 3 was Senior Citizen's day at
Huronview, Clinton, for Senior
Citizens from Dashwood, Grand Bend
and Exeter. A delicious dinner was
enjoyed followed by a program of tap
dancing by girls from Clinton and
violin selections by senior men. It was
a lovely outing.

ty church last Tuesday evening.

short programme consisting of piano
instrumentals by Sarah and Sherri
Elliott, step -dancing by Chrissie
Miller, and accordion solos by
Taunya Van Allen.
Joanne Wallace conducted contests
and read an address of good wishes
to the bride. Kathy was assisted in
opening her many gifts by Kathy
McKellar, Mrs. BiII Hulley, Mrs.
Calvin Hulley and Mrs. Dalton
Fischer.
Cromarty church will be closed for

Mrs. Linda Riley and Ben return-
ed home on Thursday after a two

For the children's story the
minister demonstrated to them, with
three balls of yarn, by giving each
child a piece of the yarn to hold onto
and spreading among them, that each
colour meant a different thing "Hap-
piness", "Laughter," and "Love",
soon all three colours were scattered
through the church and even the
adults were involved.
Following the service, there was a
social time over refreshments serv-
ed outside on the lawn. •

Woodham man
celebrates 90

A former resident of the Woodham
community celebrated his 90th birth-
day on Friday, July 5th. He was
honoured by family, friends, relatives
and neighbours at a dinner in
Woodham United Church.
Fred Doupe was born in Lakeside,
Ontario on July 5 1895. He lived and
farmed in Blanshard Township for
over 70 years. Ile has been a resident
of St. Marys since 1967.
He was treasurer of Blanshard
Township for 15 years and auditor of
Blanshard Mutual Fire Insurance
Company for 13 years. Mr. Doupe was
a Director of the Kirkton Agricultural
Society for many years and is also a
past president. He served on various
boards of Woodham United Church as
well.
Congratulations were received
from the Governor General of
Canada. Harry Brightwell and the
House of Commons, the Honourable
John Turner MPP, llugh Edighoffer,
the province of Ontario and the town
of St. Marys.

someone up the ladder, you are
nearer the top yourself". Mrs. Rosser
said that life in general would be bet-
ter if we put forth an effort towards
our youth, as this is the Year of the
Youth.
Mrs. Lewis gave a very interesting
report on the Tenth National
Federated Women's Institute of
Canada convention, held at the
University of Western Ontario, from
June 16-20.
Board Meets
Prospect Hill Cemetery Board mel
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas.
Metters on June 26. The cemetery is
being well cared for and is a credit to
the community.
Decoration Day will be observed at
the cemetery on Sunday, August 18,
1985.

Anglican Church
The Rev. Peter Derrick was (he
celebrant of the Holy Eucharist
assisted by Roger Harmsworth as lay
reader and Susan Kilpatrick as
server. The crucifer was John
Herbert and the organist Mrs. Nor-
man Hodgins.
The two readings were read by
Sylvia Bealson and Lisa Moore. The
Gospel of the day was read by Roger
Harmsworth. Four linen puri ficators
and a baptismal low•ellette were
dedicated to the Glory of God.
The Rev. Derrick's message was on
how God's strength is perfected in our
weakness. Our weakness makes us
more receptive to the gifts of God's
love and guidance.
Following the service everyone en-
joyed a lunch -put on by the Chancel
Guild. Next Sunday the service will be
at 8:3(1 a.m
There will be no services at the
