Kippers East WI
ride in parade
By Margaret Hoggarth
Will we ever forget the day we put
a float in (he Tuckersmith Ses-
quicentennial Parade? Those
members who participated enjoyed
dressing the float up and there were
13 of us riding on it. The seven wisest
got off at Van Egmond House. That
left six foolhardy members to con-
tinue the route back to Seaforth
arena. Little did we realise that our
journey would be "overflowing" with
events!
Those riding on the float were Ruby
Triebner, Grace Eyre, Mary Broad -
foot, Mildred Chalmers, Mattie
McGregor, Mary Whitehouse, Joyce
Pepper, Mona Alderdice, Grace
Drummond, Helen MacLean,
Frances Kinsman, Thea Wisch and
Margaret Hoggarth. Special thanks to
our driver Doug McGregor who put
up with all our antics. The special
quilt we had worked on during the
winter months was auctioned off
Saturday night and went to Ross
McNichol of Stratford.
