Cowgirls win two games
The Crediton Cowgirls ladies
fast ball team had another successful
week by defeating Poplar Hill 12-8 and
Strathroy 8-3.
The Cowgirls play their next game
Monday night at home against Ailsa
Craig and travel to Strathroy Friday
night.
In their win against Poplar Hill. (he
Crediton squad took the lead in the
first inning by batting in six runs.
Poplar Hill fought back near the end
of the game but didn't get quite close
enough.
Leading Crediton at the plate were
Lori Devlaeminck and Kate Steeper
with a double and a triple apiece.
Tammy Regier and Brenda Iredale
pounded out a triple and a single each.
Sue Muller, Marilyn Smithers and
Karen Bowerman hit three singles
apiece and Pauline Brannon added a
single hit.
Brenda Iredale was the winning pit-
cher by having an outstanding night
with 11 strikeouts.

ing on the wet diamond the ladies
came away with a very important
win.
They took the lead in the first inn-
ing by batting in two runs. 'l'he
Cowgirls kept the lead for the whole
game by adding runs in the second,
fourth and sixth innings.

Royals mastery
The Lucan Irish continued their
mastery over the Exeter Royals
Thursday as they blanked the Royals
2 to 0.
The win improved Lucan's season
record to 12 wins and two losses and
a one -and -a -half game lead over the
Royals whose record dropped to nine
wins and two losses. Both Exeter
losses this season have come at the
hands of the Irish time.
Express win
three games
The Exeter Express scored three
straight victories this week in the
Great Lakes senior baseball league.
In Walkerton Sunday, the Express
swept a doubleheader from the home
club by scores of 8-5 and 6-5 and Mon-
day it was an at home 5-2 decision
over Strathroy.
Three Exeter runs in the sixth inn-
ing provided the difference in Sun-
day's first game victory. The winning
rally was powered by five base hits.
They were singles from the bats of
Dave Bogart, Walt Parkinson, Dave
Shaw, Dave Atthill and Steve Pearce.
In the Exeter first, Dave Shaw's tri-
ple and a single by Kevin Hern sent
the first two runs across the plate.
Bogart singled and Parkinson
doubled to plate the third Exeter ruin
in the third frame. Bogart, Parkinson
and Hern singled to score the fourth
and fifth runs in the top of the fifth.
Brian Horner was the Express pit-
cher and he held the opposition to
eight well scattered hits while strik-
ing out four opposing hatters.
in the nightcap, all six Exeter runs
were produced in the fifth inning. The
big blows were a hearer from the bat
Of Doug Hoffman and Dave Shaw's
triple. Other hits were contributed by
Dave Bogart, Walt Parkinson. Brian
Horner and Steve Pearce.
Pearce went the distance on the Ex-
eter mound and although allowing 11
hits he was tough in the clutches.
In Monday's home contest, Jeff
Fuller was the starting Express
hurler. 'I'he only two runs he allowed
were the leadoff batters in the sixth
inning. Perry Stover cameon in reliel
and retired three of the four hatters
he faced in the seventh..
The win was actually accomplish-
ed in a come -from -behind rally worth
four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
The first Express run was counted
in the fifth when Dave Bogart singl-
ed and came home on a similar hit by
Perry Stover.
Powering the four run rally in the
sixth were hits delivered by Dave
Bogart, Doug Holtman, %Vali Parkin
son and Brian Horner.

Needed
Lucan were led by the strong five
hit pitching of Ron Glenn who struck
out seven and walked one. The only
runs he needed came in the second
inning.
Veteran catcher Brian Noyeswork-
ed Royals hurler Brian Hodgins for a
lead off walk and came around to
score as third baseman Kevin Wind-
sor slammed a home run to left field.
Lucan could manage only three
more hits off Hodgins who also threw
a strong game.
Leading Exeter at the plate was se-
cond baseman, John Kernick who
cracked three singles in three trips to
the plate. Barry Baynham and Brian
Hodgins also singled for the Royals.
Exeter doesn't have a home game
this week as they travel to Bryanston,
Thursday night.
Both the Royals and Irish have an-
nounced they will be participating in
the O.A.S.A. play downs this year.
Exeter in "C" series and Lucan in
"D". First round action will begin
around the first of August.
Honda to film
at Hully Gully
The 1986 ATC product brochures
from Honda Canada Incorporated
will be a special one for Huron Coun-
ty. Honda Canada has chosen Bully
Gully and area farms as the filming
sites for their 1986 product brochures.
Ambross Carr, a national advertis-
ing agency from Toronto, will set up
their cameras for an extensive day of
filming, from the sporting aspect, to
the agricultural aspect of the fast
growing Honda all -terrain vehicles.
The filming will take place in the
early part of July and the product
brochures will be released in late fall
CLAYBIRD SCORES
Perry Maschke recorded a score of
24 to win Sunday's claybird gun club
competition.
Doug -Moore was second with 23 and
Rusty Gibson and Jody Mosurinjohn
were deadlocked for third spot with
22 each. Next came Glen Greb 21.
Raymond Playfoot 17. Sandy Gibson
13 and Pierre h1alozewski eight.

interfere with the double header be-
ing played by Exeter Greys against

Members of the Exeter lawn bowl-
ing club took the top three spots in a
joint jitney Thursday night with the
Seaforth club.
Evelyn Scott was the best from both
clubs with two victories anda plus of
28. Next came Marshall Dearing at 27
and Ray Smith with 26.
In regular play on the local level,
Tuesday night Emma Campbell pro-
ved to be best with a score of 26 to go
with a pair of wins. Stella Taylor was
second best at 21 and Pere Campbell,
Dan Hankin and Isabel McKay were
all even at 20 and Bill Lamport scored
16.
On the July 1 holiday competion
was again close. Elizabeth Lamport
scored 28 and Charles Hendy was se-
cond at 23. Another tie existed for
third place with Garnet Hicks, Renus
Marsman and Tom Walker all even
at 21. Lauretta Seigner scored 19.
