"If total abstinence is the safest and wisest policy and we believe in wisdom, then why aren't we practising it'.'". Mac- Donald asks. The cover story, written by senior writer Mike Milne and treelance writer Joanna Fairheart, examines the personal and social costs of in- creased alcohol consumption, and asks how the church should respond.
