Christmas is the most festive • celebration of the Christian year. Traditionally Christmas has been celebrated at a date near the beginning of the New Year. I think there is a message in this aspect.- We are not to leave memories of the Christ -child behind us in the same way we dispose of the Christmas wrappings the day after Christmas. Christmas reminds us that we have been and still are, in some ways, infants in our faith. YetGod stills sees us as significant to his Kingdom. Not only are we to realize our faith has grown and matured in like manner to Jesus own growth from infancy into adulthood. We need to allow Christ to accompany us right through the year, assisting our growth in the faith and assisting us to meet all the challenges life tosses in our direction. New Year's celebrations -. need to include Christ, for in- deed it is the same God Father of ourLord, whosawrit to send His only Son into the world as a Love Offering to all his people. The January meeting of the United Church women will be - held Monday, January 3 at 8 Sunday, January , Sunday School will beheld at 10 a.m. Church service will beat 11:15 a.m. in the church basement.
