Enjoy Puerto Rico .
Esther Salmon and her
daughter Eleanor returned
home from a ten day holiday
in Puerto Rico last Tuesday.
they enjoyed the summer-
time weather of the Puerto
Rican winter, and Eleanor
made frequent visits to the
bath -tub -warm Atlantic just
in front of their hotel in Isla
Verde.
From meeting and talking
with a number of Puerto
Ricans, they learned a great
deal about life on the island.
Eleanor particularly enjoyed
the majesty and history of
Fuerto El Morro while Esther
was astonished at the wonder-
ful plants, flowers and trees
on El Yunque (Rainforest).
Shopping in the little shops in
Old San Juan, eating in the
lovely restaurants of Condado
Beach, and " wandering
through the coconut grove at
Loqutllo Beach, were ex-
periences that a visit could
only recall.
Eleanor got to spend a lithe
time exploring the beautiful
campus of the University of
Puerto Rico, and both mother
and ,daughter toured the.
famous Bacardi Run
Distillery. The island is
beautiful, the peoplere
wonderful, and the weather
cannot be beaten, but a visit
always makes one much
more appreciative of our
Canadian home; Esther and
Eleanor had a great time, but -
they were pleased to be home
again to enjoy Christmas with
their family. .
