Ilyth, Goderich win in pee wee house longue
Blyth won the "A" cham-
pionship and Goderich 11 took
the "B" title in Monda 's
wee house league hockey
tournament played at the
South Huron Rec Centre spon-
sored by the Exeter Minor

St. Marys 8-1 and Goderich 1
10-3 before edging a strong
Hensall team 5-3 in the final.
After losing their first game
8-2 to Hensall the Goderich II
club edged Zurich 5.4 and
defeated Clinton 7-6 in a
shootout to take the "B"
crown.
The Exeter team defeated
Zurich 5-3 in the opening
game of the tourney and were
eliminated as they were
drubbed 15-2 by Hensall. Dan-
ny McDougall with three
goals led the Blyth scoring in
the final win over Hensall.
Mike Radford and Larry
Hunking scored in single
fashion.
Rob Taylor, BrianMoir and
Scott Bell were the Hensall
marksmen.
Larry Hunking scored three
times to lead the 10-3 Blyth
• win over Goderich and he
teamed with Brent Radford to
score two goals each in the
victory over St. Marys.
Greg Dewinter notched a
hat trick to lead Goderich II
to their championship win
over Clinton.
Mike Rompf was tops for
•
Goderich with three goals in
their 5-4 win over Zurich
which came in a shootout.
Dale Miller led Zurich with
a three goal effort and Steve
Arnold added one score.
Henri DeBruyn scored two
goals to lead the Exeter club
to the opening 5-3 win over
Zurich. Notching one goal
apiece were Graham Arthur,
Jason McFalls and Peter
Leriokos.
Notching one goal apiece
for Zurich were Dale Miller
and Bob Vandeworp.
Lerikos and McFalls scored
for Exeter in the 15-2 loss to
Hensall.
Scott Bell fired five suc-
cessful shots to lead the 15
goal assault. Jim Dickens,
Jason lmanse, Chris Camp-
bell and Rob Taylor were next
with two goals each. Scoring
in single fashion were Brian
Moir and Scott Kirton.
In the first Hensall win by
'a score of 8-2 over Goderich,
Scott Bell was tops with a four
goal effort. Jim Dickens was
next with a pair of goals and
Jim Hill and Rob Taylor
tallied one goal each.

The Irish will be back in ac-
tion tonight, Wednesday on
their home ice at 8:15 with the
Exeter Hawks supplying the
opposition. The Lucan club
was in Seaforth last night.
Tuesday.
The Irish started slowly in
Wednesday's win with two
goals in the first period. Geoff
Edwards hit on a three-way
effort with John Medd and
Doug .Latta and Steve Glenn
.converted a pass from Jeff.
Skinner.
Novice win one
in holiday event
The Exeter novice hockey
team won one of three games
in a tournament in New Ham-
burg, Monday.
In their first start Monday
morning, the locals were edg-
ed 5-3 by. Acton. Their second
start was more successful'as
they romped -to a 7-0 shutout
victory over Mount Brydges.
The shutout role was
reversed in the third game for
the Exeter club in a 5-0 loss to
Tavistock.
In the first game. Acton
built up a 3-0 Lead by the ear-
ly moments of the second
period and the Exeter
youngsters were not able to
catch up.
Jason Heywood scored all
three Exeter goals. two of
which were scored on
unassisted efforts. Joe} Smith
assisted on the other goal.
Heywood was again the
scoring star in the win over .
Mount Brydges as he fired
five successful shots. Five dif-
ferent players picked up one
assist on each of Heywood's
scores. They were Joel Smith.
Tim Hoffman. Matt Ander•

son. Ryan Stuart and Fred
Steciuk,
Brad Thompson and Fred
Godbolt were the other Ex-
eter marksmen with assists
going to Joel Smith and
Godbolt.
In the second period. Jamie
Shipley fired two successful
shots with Paul Wraith
assisting on both and Hugh
Dietrich and Randy Turner
picking up single assists. "
The other middle game
Irish marksmen were John
Medd and Dave Patton on
passes provided by Geoff -Ed-
wards and Art Gregory and
Randy Turner with the assist
going to Wraith.
The final two Lucan goals
coming in the third period
