Novice, bantam teams gain ties, juveniles lose
The Exeter novice hockey
team could manage oit-Iy a tie
in a home and home series
this week with their Lucan
counterparts.
In the first game in Lucan
the home team chalked up an
8-2 victory while back in Ex-
eter the two clubs played to a
5-5 tie.
In the Sunday game. Jason
Heywood scored two goals
both on unassisted efforts in
the last two and a halt
minutes of play to get the tie
for the Exeter club.
Heywood also scored one
other goal on a pass from Joel
Smith. The other Exeter
scores came on an unassisted
effort by Ryan Stuart and
Allan McFalls on a pass from
Jason Heywood.
Neil Froats and Greg
Boshart led the Lucan scoring
attack with two goals apiece
while Janie Lightfoot notch-
ed the other goal.
In the 8-2 loss to Lucan,
Jason Heywood scored for
Exeter on a solo dash and pro-
vided the pass for a successful
shot by Allan McFalls.
Jeremy Jemec was the top

South 1futon's senior boys'
basketball team v:on one and
lost one at the Regina Mundi
basketball tournament for
small schools on the weekend.
Friday night they defeated
West Elgin 43-37, but Satur-
day lost 37-30 to Norwich.
In the game against West
Elgin. South Huron was losing
until halfway through the se-
cond quarter when they real-
ly hustled to get the lead. It
was evident that the team
hasn't been playing together
that long as they lost control
of the ball. but worked
together well.
Towards the end of the
gilme. tempers were running
high as the play became more
agressive. John Mol was good
for 17 points and Kevin Par-
sons had a good game and 13
points.
South Huron should have
beaten Norwich and perhaps
might•have won the tourna-
ment. Seaforth, a Huron -
Perth team won the Regina
Mundi tournament.
The semi final game saw
South Huron again rally from
an early Norwich lead to be
on top until the last few
minutes when Norwich pulled
out. that 7 point lead. Kevin
Parsons and John Mol were
again top scorers with 12
points each.
Monday all three South
Huron teams played Parkhill
in exhibition games. The
seniors played better than
their weekendeffortsbutdrop-
ped a close match 63-62 to the
Marauders. Parkhill scored
in the hat 20 seconds to lead by
two.,
South Huron made good on
only one of two foul shots that
could have tied up the game.

count at 1-1 in the third period
when Eric '1'adgell rifled a
