Homemakers held their
November meeting at the
Gorrie United Church. Huron
County Warden and Howick
Township's reeve Harold
Robinson. Howick Township's
deputy reeve John Stafford
and Howick councillors Stuart
Douglas, and Bill Newton and
councillor' elect of Howick-
Township Alec Graham at-
tended the meeting.
Reports were tabled from
each of the board commit-
tees. The executive commit-
tee presented the 1983 budget.

prices program. the increas-
ed employer's payments
towards unemployment in •

surance and Workmen's
Compensation. To help com-
pensate for these increases
plans have been made to cut
telephone, postage. and sup-
plies costs.
The nominating committee
received names of potential
board members for the next
term. The nominees will be
invited to the next board
meeting as observers.
The property committee
proposed a number of repairs
to the office building. Most of
these jobs will be done by
volunteer help from the
Board and the community.
Thank you notes were
published in the local papers
to give credit to the many
generous donors and can-
vassers who made the fall
campaign a success. Vice -
President to Jo Berry of
Goderich, sought volunteers
from the Board members, to
accept the . different tasks
associated with orga:iizing
the. annual meeting in April
1983.
The public relations com-
mittee is going to put together
additional display material to
be used at speaking
engagements and community.
fairs. This will include a •
bulletin board and revenue
and expenditure charts.
Marie Bolton, gave a corn-
prehensive report on the
C.A.A.D. meeting November.
10 1982. This council is
organized in Huron County to
offer assistance to persons
and families having an
alcohol or drug problem.
The nextmeeting of the
board will be in January.
MR. AND MRS. ALAN VAN DEN HEUVEL
Colleen -Michele MacGregor and Alan William Von Den
Heuvel exchanged marriage vows November 5, 1982
of Church of God, Grand Bend with Rev. John Camp-
bell officiating. The bride is the daughter of Clare and
Barbara MacGregor of Parkhill and the groom is the
son of. Ari and Kea Von den Heuvel, Sarnia. The maid
of honour was Tammy Bardawill. Bridesmaids were
Gail Adamson; Lori MacGregor, and Kim MacGregor.
The flower girl was Julie Weber. The best man was
Mark Verbeek and ushers were "Kevin Adamson, Jeff
Von den Heuvel, Chris MacGregor. The ring -bearer was
Tyler Desjardine. After their honeymoon to Florida,"the
couple now resides in Sarnia.
MR. -AND MRS. JOSEPH TURNER
Saskia Merkies and Joseph Turner were married on
November 6, 1982 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church
in Grand Bend. The bride is the daughter of John and
Puck Merkies, Grand Bend. The groom's parents are
Bob and Rita Turner, Kitchener: Maid -of -honor was
Brenda Ballontyne, Exeter, while Michael Turner was
best man. Bridesmaids were Kim Merkies and Cathy
Turner, Dianne Smylie of Guelph sang at the wedding
ceremony. Dinner and reception were held at the Club
House in Southcott Pines. After a honeymoon in
Curacao the couple will take up residence in Ottawa.
