Church Service
The regular church service
was held on Sunday morning.
Rev. Robert 'Matheson told
.the children's story "Bran-
ches." The choir rendered a
Christmas anthem.
The sermon was entitled "A
Consistent Reminder". In this
world of inflationary cycles
and floating interest rates we
often feel there is nothing of
substance which is constant
or consistent. By merely at-
tending a'church worship ser-
vice, however, we do witness
to the fact that God is both
constant and consistent in
our lives.
People of the Old Testa-
ment generations, whether
they followed a man like
Moses or listened to a prophet
such as Jeremiah were often
skeptical as to whether God
ould make good on all His
omises. By leading the
ildren of Israel out of

Gunby back
on executive
At the Ontario Federation
of Agriculture's Annual Con-
vention in Toronto_this week,
positions on the executive
were sought by an unusually
large number of candidates.
Some members had been
campaigning in several coun-
ties prior to Convention to ral-
ly support for their
candidacy.
Ralph Barrie from Lanark
County, defeated Ron White
from Middlesex County to re-
tain his position as president
of the OFA. White also ran to
be reelected in his position as
first vice-president and was
successful, defeating four
other candidates.
The position of second vice-
president was most popular
with seven people seeking the
position. Mary Wicks, a dairy
farmer from Victoria County,
emerged the victor. An ex-
ecutive director for several
years, this is her first time as
a vice-president.
Locally, Merle Gunby from
Dungannon was returned to
he OFA executive as a direct-
or. Completing the executive
re Keith f ckner, Oxford

ounty; Barry Pellisero,
