Church activities..
This past Sunday marked
the first Sunday in Advent
four weeks before the birth of
Christ. Rev. J. Sutt n urged
us to prepare ourselves for
that day in prayer and study.
In his sermon he looked
back in this past year - his
first full year in this. Parish,
outlining what our small
church has accomplished.
Rev. Sutton feels that St.
Johns by the Lake is a unique
resort church - stating that no
summer churches close for
the winter' but St. John's has
a constant congregation with
many visitors in the summer.
As the members are a ma-
. jority of middle age, he would
- like them to find usefulness in
their faith and look seriously
at helping others. He remind-
ed us all that church in its true.
