Challenging year for area Credit Union
The 31s1 Annual meeting of
the Clinton Community Credit
Union Limited was held
November 24 in Clinton.
President Ernie Williams
reported to the members that
it had been the most challeng-
ing year so far for the Credit
Union with a dividend rate of
eight and one half percent be-
ing paid on member's shares.
The rate was lower than
had been paid in the previous
few years but this was main-
ly due to the demand for a
higher rate of interest on our
term deposits and daily in-
terest accounts during the
past year. $447,736.00 more
was paid out on members
deposits than during the 1981
fiscal year.
The Exeter Branch which
was being leased in the past
was purchased thispastsum-
mer. The upstairs apartment
has been rented and office
space on the ground floor has
been rented to Co-operators
Insurance.
Mr. Williams reported the
sad loss during the past year
of 45 members. Two of those
members Leonard Winter
and Hector Kingswell were
past presidents of the Credit
Union.
In honour of Hector
Kingswell's contribution and
dedication to the Credit
Union, the Clinton Communi-
ty Credit Union Award which
is annually presented to the
most deserving student in
