was president of the Huron
4-H tractor club and a leader
in the 4-H Sodbusters club.
Winner of the C.S. Mac -
Naughton trophy for achiev-
ing the highest score in the
county was Lisa Thompson,
RR 5 Wingham, a member of
the Blyth-Belgravc 4-H becf
calf club. She also won the
J.A. Anstett award for the
highest score in beef clubs
and the silver dollar competi-
tion in the 4-H beef.
Huron county warden
Harold Robinson presented
the warden's novice trophy to
Donna Johnston, RR 2,
Bluevale, a member of .the
Brussels 4-H dairy club for
the highest score of any first
year 4-H member.
Donna also won the John
Franken Memorial trophy
with the highest score in 4-11
horse clubs.
Cheryl Stewart, RR 1
Kirkton received a certificate
for completing 30 projects
while Greg Dougall, RR 3 Ex-
eter was awarded a 24 project
certificate and awards for 18
projects went to Bill
Kinsman, RR 2 Kippen and
David ' Townsend, RR 4
Seaforth and Bill Gibson, RR
5 Clinton.
Others receiving awards in
South Huron were Scott
Hodgert, RR 1 Woodham,
Greg Hoggarth, RR 2 Kippen
and Julie Townsend, RR 4
Seaforth with 12 projects
completed.

Won the Central Huron 4-H
Rabbit Club trophy for having
the highest score in the 4-H
rabbit club.
Huron's Ag Rep peon Pullen
told the large audience at
Central Huron Secondary
School that more that 350
members completed S00 pro-
jects this year, an increase of
100 from a year ago.
Pullen said parents and
their young families are
brought increasingly closer
together in common interests
because 4-H work emphasizes
the home as the place where
• 4-11 projects are usually car-
ried out as members learn to
do by doing.
He continued, "The
keystone of 4-11 club work is
the voluntary local leader.
Currently in Huron we are
fortunate to have almost 250
persons giving of their time
and talents to provide leader-
ship to 112 clubs."
