Prizes went to ladies high, Mrs. Guthrie Stokes, men's high, Otto Darling; lone hands, Mrs. Joe Carter and Murray Carter. Low scores were Mrs. Gertrude Hodgins Lind Maurice McDonald. Next Sunday is White Gift Sunday at the United Church. This year's White Gifts are going to the Men's Mission, London. Gifts of canned goods, (no soups) and cash ire badly needed. HUGH MORENZ Shipka • Dick, Annie and Angie Zielman returned last week trom a three week holiday in the area of Dalfsen Holland with Dick's 90 year old mother, Mrs. Geraldine Zielman, his two brothers Fritz and Gerrit and sister Alberdina. nieces and nephews two uncles and an aunt. • This was the first time Angie had seen her grand- mother. While there they at- tended the wedding of their niece Geke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Zielman to Sranz Buieter in Dalfsen. An interesting place they visited was Poolder, a farm- ing area, where the sea of Ig- sselneer was pumped dry so the land could be farmed. Huge dykes surround the area. The farmers -are still plowing up bits of boats and planes. Dickkc came to Canada in 1948 and this was his second visit home, going once in'1965. His mottier visited Canada in 1968. Personals Audrey and Roy Gibson, Crediton, Gwen, Mac and Johnny Windsor, of Exeter, held a pre -Christmas dinner Sunday here with the girls' parents, Mr: and Mrs. Arnold Keller. Sandra and Tony Regier, Chris, Heather and Jillian, of Detroit, spent the American Thanksgiving • holiday weekend here with Sandra's parents, Ken and Ortha Baker. Joining the Regiers and Baker's for a Thanksgiv- ing supper on Friday were Tony Regier Sr., Don, Sharon and Jamie Baker, and Mrs. Emma Schilbe, of Zurich. Gerry Corbett, little son of Steven and Janine Corbett, spent last Tuesday with his great, great aunt and uncle Hugh and Annie Morenz. A most successful Harvest dance sponsored by Shipka Community was held Satur- day night in the Parkhill Com- munity Centre. A majority of the proceeds will be used for the upkeep of Shipka Com- munity Centre. Members of Shipka Com- munity are asked to attend a business meeting Thursday evening Dec. 2, 8:00 p.m. at the Community Center to discuss next years activities and plans on whether to hold a harvest dance in 1983. Harold and Lucille Vincent, Mike and Michelle, visited Sunday at Jack Miner's bird sanctuary and called to visit cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Art Holnes near Chatham. ••• Santa will visit Dashwood Dec. 18 Dy MRS. IRVIN RADER The Dashwood Men's Club held their meeting Monday with 29 members and two guests enjoying a delicious supper. President, Raymond Hartman presided for the business. Robert Hoffman was elected to represent the club on the Medical Centre board. Ray Hartman presented past president, Earl Keller with a gift. The club will again sponsor Santa Claus day for the children December 18.. Tickets can be purchased from members on a 50-50 draw which will be drawn at • the party. Ladies' Night will be held December 13. Earl Keller thanked the caterers. Personals Judith Mellecke, Ann Ar- bor, Mich. spent a week with hoe family at the parsonage Word was received of the accidental death of Mrs. Laura Grace, Pinellas Park, Florida, dear sister of Mrs. Everett Haist. She is surviv- ed by one daughter, Shirley, in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Haist celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 28. "A Come and Go" tea was • held at Dashwood tea. Centre followed by a family supper. Guests and family attended from Saskatchewan, Michigon, London, St. Thomas, Chatham and sur- rounding area. Mr. and Mrs. Haist have one son, Stanley, Dashwood; and one daughter, Eunice, (Mrs. Frank Dutertre), Dinsmore, Saskatchewan; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren whn were all present. Everett Haist and Sophia Schroeder were married in the Dashwood Evangelical Church manse.December 22, 1917, by Rev, Meyers. The couple began their married life on the Haist farm near Crediton. They operated a bakery in Mensal!, an elec- trical store in Detroit, a bakery in Zurich and Mr. Haist was distributor for an oil company while living at Sarepta and Exeter. For the past 35 years they have resid- ed in Dashwood. They are en- joying good health and are ac- tive members of Dashwood Seniors and the United Church. By MRS. HEBER DAVIS Rev. Next Sunday the service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Tindall entertained 200 hundred relatives and friends to a hot smorgasbord dinner at the Legion hall, Exeter Saturday on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. They wereassisted by their family Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cun- ningham, Mar, and Marylou and Robert. Guests were present from London, Lucan, Clandeboye, centralia, Wiar- ton, Wingham, Pt.
