Sherwoods win two
The Hensall Sherwoods
scored a pair of victories in
the South Huron intermediate
hockey league this week.
Wednesday, the Sherwoods
chalked up a 7-4 decision over
the Centralia College Saints
and Thursday they scored a
decisive 9-1 victory over St.
Marys of the North Oxford
league.
The Hensall club's record is
now five win:, and one loss.
Four unanswered goals late
in the second period and in the
third allowed the Sherwoods
to beat the Saints.
Ken Varley put the Sher -
woods ahead in the first
period on a pass from Terry
Caldwell only to have Steve
Sage reply for the Saints with
Paul Johnson assisting.
Before the period ended
Brian Baker converted a pass
from Brian Maher and the
same two combined with
Maher scoring to account for
the next two Hensall scores.
Laurie Eckhardt and Paul
Johnson scored the second
and third CCAT: markers on
plays started by Steve Sage
and Barry Gregg.
The only goal of the dniddle
period for the Saints came
from the stick -of Barry
Gregory 'on a three-way com-
bination with John Macintosh
and Steve Sage at the 14 se-
cond mark on a power play.
_ The Sherwoods ; tied the
score and regained the lead
on a pair of similar goals on
power play advantages with
Jamie Caldwell and Dwight
•Consitt registering. Brian
Baker assisted on both.
In the third period, Dwight
Consitt and Gregg Campbell
• gave the Sherwood a couple of
insurance goals with assists
going to captain Dave
Kinsman and Brian Maher.
Again in the win over St.
Marys, the Sherwoods came
on strong in the second half of
the game.
The only goal of the first
period came fromthe stick of
Rick Parker on a three-way
effort with Scott Jesney and
Brian Baker.
