Shipka couple honoured

About 50 neighbours and
friends gathered Thursday
evening at Shipka Communi-
ty Centre to honor Cliff and
Velma Russell, who have
retired and moved to
Dashwood, also Doug and
Ann Russell who have moved
from the community.
During the social time there
was nine tables of progressive
euchre and one of Lost Heir.
Winners of euchre were:
ladies high, Velma Russell;
ladies low, Ortha Baker;
men's high Doug Russell;

stitute entertained at the
Bluewater Rest home.
Mrs. Norm Eveland was
M.C. for the evening. Dennis
Hodgins sang two songs.
Arlene Cottel gave a reading.
Gloria Martin sang several
numbers and conducted a
sing song.
Lois Hodgins played her
violin and was accompanied
by her sister Fern Dougall at
the piano. Eleanor Roeszler
and Gloria Martin sang a
duet.

A group of friends surpris-
ed Oscar and Laura Miller on
the occasion of their 77th bir-
thdays (that each celebrate
this month) Tuesday night at
their home in Dashwood.
