The Riverview Women's In-
stitute held their November 2
meeting at Craigholme with a
good number of ladies from
Craigholme joining with us.
As our roll call was "bring or
tell about a special doll of
yours", there was a nice
display of well dressed dolls
which brought a lot of com-
pliments to their owners.
Alice Dickens read a poem
about A Doll. Margaret
Wilson read the scripture,
Matthew 11.
The guest speaker Mrs. Ric
(Nancy) Guy, set up a good
full display of her doll house
complete with miniature fur-
niture, lamps, rugs and mats,
everything a house needs and
more.
She gave an interesting and
informative talk on how she
got started into this hobby and
how to make and put together
the pieces, also where to find
books and material with
which to work. This is truly a
cultural activity which brings
pleasure to the maker and
viewers as well. Margaret
Wilson thanked Mrs. Guy and
presented her with a gift.
A story, The Queen's Doll
House, was told by Ruth
McCallum and very much en-
joyed by all. A delicious lunch
was then served by Alie
Twynstra's committee.
The minutes were read and
adopted. Nancy Harmer and
Margaret Wilson reported on
the Area Convention held at
St. Marys.
At the water cooler: "They
gave him a watch when he
retired, and in a week it quit
working too."
