Friends and neighbours
gathered in the community
centre Wednesday evening to
honour Mrs. Verna Hicks
prior to her leaving the
village to reside in Exeter.
All sat down to a
smorgasbord supper.
Following the meal a pro-
gram followed with Mildred
Hirtzet as chairlady. A sing
song of old tunes was enjoyed
by all, led by Marian Deline
with Lois Wilson at the piano.
Two readings were given
by Mildred Greb entitled
"School Days" and "God's
out of Doors." Musical
numbers on the piano by
Mary Lou Tasko. A duet by
Bonnie and Clyde Kooy "Hap-
py Day Express" and a solo
by Bonnie Kooy "You Light
up my Life."
Verna was called to the
front where an address was
read by Mrs. Fred Bowden
taking us back over the 46
years Verna spent in the
village. She was presented
with a gift of money.
She thanked everyone and
recalled many incidents
which took place while she
taught school here, some very

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
11 tsp. minced onion
11/2 tsp. parsley
11 tsp. accent (food flavour)
1'4 tsp. dill weed
tsp. celery salt
Mix together and use for
fresh vegetables.

Hariton family holds reunion at Shipka park

nual Harlton reunion, Sunday,
held at Shipka Community
Centre.

to be Mary McRoberts and
family.
All enjoyed a smorgasbord

Mrs. Earl Vincent, is a pa-
tient in St. Joseph's Hospital,

Mrs. Doris Sweitzer, spent
the weekend in Welland, with
her mother, Mrs. Elsie Com-
fort, and on Sunday afternoon
they attended a surprise bir-
thday party for Doris' sister,
Mrs. Sylvia Anger, of Dun-
