A golf clinic and
demonstration provided by
Bob Martin of Martin's Golf
Shop in London featured
Tuesday's regular men's
night at the Ironwood golf
course.
Paul Van Gerwen won "A"
flight low gross and Ernie
Chipchase recorded the best
net round. In "B" flight, Ken
Varley was the low gross win-
ner and low net honours went
to Gabby Mol.
"C" flight honours went to
Dave Watson for gross and
Derry Boyle for net while the
"D" flight gross slid net win-
ners, respectively were Mark
Edmundston and Norm
Whiting.
Ken Bowen was closest to
the pin and Jack Chipchase
had the longest drive.

Last Saturday the swim
team went to Goderich for
their third meet. Swimming
well.was Rob Russell with two
firsts and two seconds. Other
first place finishers were
Bryden Gryseels with two
firsts and John O'Connor also
with a first place finish. Mike
Berg, Dave Russell, Ian
Verbeek• and Bryan Quinn
were first in the boys I3 and
14 200 metre free relay.
Everyone showed good per-
formance with the team com-
ing in fourth place overall.
Saturday, August 7 was
semi-finals in Kincardine for
the Exeter Swim Team.
Exeter doing very well,
placed fourth with 112 points.
Swimming well were Fred
Steciuk, Bryden Gryseels,
Julia Merner, Marcia and
Michelle Ellison, Rob and
Dave Russell and Ian
Shangler.
All swimmers put forth a
good effort and many will ad-
vance to the finals in Guelph,
on Aug. 21. Congratulations .

walked three, with Brian
Hodgins facing four batters in
the 7th, two of them collecting
Randy Kraul and' Kevin
Windsor lead the Irish at the
plate with a pair of hits each,
while Paul McKnight was the
only Exeter player to collect
two hits. The loss probably
cost Exeter any chance of
finishing any higher than
third this season, with only
five games left.
There will be no home
game this Thursday, but the
Saveway crew return next
week with a 9 p.m. game with
fourth place Poplar Hill. Ex-
eter does play this week
though, with games in Lieury,
Monday and Wednesday
against the Jets, and in
Sylvan on Tuesday.
