Photo by Frank Phillips New books arrive By Elizabeth Schroeder We have acquired many good books at the Exeter Library lately. To name a few:, 1. Eden Burning by Belva Plain; 2. A Lion in the way by D. Cadell; 3. The Kennedy Imprisonment by Gary Wells; 4.Lawns,GroundCover and Weed Control byDavid Pycraft; 5. Yes, Virginia there is a right and wrong! by Kathleen Gow. 6. Boys, Bombs and Brussels Sprouts by Doug J. Harvey; 7. How to read the Bible by James Fischer; 8. Muggeride ancient and modern; 9. Biography of June Allyson ; 10. All about chimneys: building, using and repairing by John Traister. There have also been many improvements to our local library in the last few years. That says something positive about our Council, the Huron County Library Board and Bill Partridge. They are far- seeing individuals who know the importance of libraries and books. One of the improvements is the "book return" near the south entrance. This is a boom to the borrower who happens to forget the library hours. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to deposit books in the slot. The "spine" of the book should be inserted first. This prevents the book from opening and ly- ing "spreadeagled" in the book truck. The next book to fall on it could and does, damage the spine quite severely. We encourage the use of plastic bags, especially for the children. Under no cir- cumstances should records and films be deposited in the book drop: Greenwood Nursery 3 kilometres north of Thedford on Hwy.. 79 (Formerly Hwy. 82j See us for your LANDSCAPING NEEDS We have qualified staff for: New Lawns, Design Landscaping, Patios, Shrubbery, Spraying, Fertilizing.
