Rev. Dr. Hugh Davidson,
Listowel, was the guest
speaker at the anniversary
services of Cromarty Church
Sunday morning. Dr. David-
son, a native of the Milverton
area, was , previous to his
retirement, Secretary of the
Board of Stewardship and
Budget of the Presbyterian
Church in Canada.
Dr. Davidson based his ser-
mon, The Logic of Events, on
Isaiah 5:1-7, and asked the
question, "Why is everything
going wrong in the world?"
Now , man asks why, and in
Isaiah's time, God asked why.
War never solves anything.
For instance, the was is
over in the Falklands, but the
problem is still there, We
must obey God's commands
in order to believe, and we
must believe in oder to obey.
During the service, a male
quartet, "The Chords of
Woodham, sang two unac-

Workshop at
Blyth theatre
Once again, the Blyth Sum-
mer Festival's Children's
Drama Workshop will be con-
ducted in two three-week
terms this sutnmer.
Cathy Smith and Lisa
Weisbrod will bring their ex-
citing combination of talents:
puppeteeringand clowning to
this successful programme.
The July 5 to July 23 session
will involve two groups: the 5
to 8 year olds and the 9.to 12
year olds in story telling,
mask and puppet making,
musical performances as well
as theatrical fun. Teenagers,
13 to 18, can join the August 2
- 20 session. They will make
large "Muppet-like" puppets,
do improvisation theatre and
have a chance to work on
their own plays.
Kids of all ages should
watch for the workshop's per-
formances at the "Second
Stage" beside the theatre
throughout the summer.
A very successful
strawberry supper was held
on Wednesday evening, with
over Yr being fed.

The Service of Confirma-
tion was held at Greenway
United Church, Sunday when
four young people were con-
firmed. They were Janet
Eagleson, Earl Bullock, Mark
Isaac, and Brian Woodburn.

The choir sang, "Have
Thine Own Way," and the
Children's Story was "The
Church's worst enemy,"
which was an empty pew
caused by indifference.
The sermon given by Rei.
Moore was "The Vine and the
Branches. The Sacrament of
Communion was ad-
ministered during the service
after which everyone went to
the Sunday School Rooms for
coffee, lunch and a time of
fellowship.
Ross and Violet Brown
were guests at their
nephew's wedding at Coll-
ingwood recently.
Olive Horner was a guest at
the wedding of her niece
recently.,
Robin Turner was delegate
to the 4H Homemaking Con-
ference at the University of
Guelph tor a few days. She
was one of 143 girls from all
over Ontario.
They listened to lectures
and were allowed to tour the
Campus. She enjoyed it very
much.
