NOTICE TO 'PUBLIC UTILITIES
WATER CONSUMERS
To conserve water, the Exeter Public
-'Utilities will limit the use of HOSTS for the
watering of lawns and gardens.
Effective JUNE 30, and until further notice,
the following schedule for the use of
hoses will be permitted:
Residential Customers (households)
Sunday to Saturday
inclusive
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Commercial Customers (businesses)
Monday, Wednesday &
Friday
9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
These regulations are more generous
than previous years, however, in order to
continue with watering every evening for
all residential customers, the hours will
be strictly enforced. Your co-operation
will be appreciated.

Executive director Roger
Sheeler reports that those
with 15, 20 and 25 years of
service with the hospital will
receive their awards in the
evening while those with
lesser years of service will
be honoured at 2 p.m. in the
afternoon.
Sheeler said the awards
were designed and
manufactured locally by
Anstett Jewellers.
The guest speaker at the
evening meeting will be Rev.
Father Joseph Nelligan of
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Church.
Nelligan who is well known
in the area for his witty
remarks will be right at
home at the meeting and will
likely be relating ex-
periences of his recent
confinement in a London
hospital.
Included on the agenda is
the election of officers. Bob
Dinney is currently the
chairman of the board of
directors.
Roger Sheeler has an-
nounced the appointment of
Mrs. Vicki Henderson to the
Shared Speech Pathology
Program at South Huron
Hopital.
She is a recent graduate of
the UWO program in com-
municative disorders and
until 1981 served as project
co-ordinator for a recovery
Single vehicles
in area
Exeter OPP investigated
four single -vehicle collisions
this week. They resulted in
three minor injuries for area
residenty.
Out of
hospital
Two men who were
overcome by carbon
monoxide fumes in a well
cleaning project that
claimed the life of a third
man, were released from
hospital last Tuesday.

Centralia, and his brother-in-
law, Robert MacGillivray,
London, were released after
treatment in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London.
The two were overcome in
their attempts to rescue
Leonard Dietrich, RR 3
Dashwood, who died from
the carbon monoxide fumes
from a pump that was being
used to pump water from the
well
MacGillivray was over-
come in his rescue attempt
and Davis managed to get
him most of the way out of
the well before he too was
overcome and then friends
and neighbours pulled the
pair the rest of the way to
safety.

On Thursday, a vehicle
driven by Loretta Hagen,
Zurich, sustained damage of
$800 when it went out of
control and into a ditch and
then a corn field on Huron
County Road 2 north of
sideroad 5-6 of Hay Town-
ship.
A vehicle driven by Terry
Harding, Owen Sound, also
sustained $800 in damage
when it was hit on the right
front side by a deer which
came bounding out of the
ditcn.
That mishap occurred on
Highway 21 north of Grand
Bend on Saturday.
The other two accidents
were on Sunday, the first
involving a vehicle driven by
Darcy Ducharme, RR 2
Zurich. It went out of control
and into a ditch and struck a
culvert on concession 4-5 of
Stephen north of the Mt.
Carmel Road.
Damage was listed at
$1,000 and the driver and a
passenger, Lisa Rooth,
Exeter, suffered minor in-
juries.

Stire, Exeter sustained
damage of $500 when it went
into a ditch on Highway 21
south of the Hay -Stanley
line.
Stire suffered minor in-
juries in that mishap.

HELP FIRE FUND — Scott Miller and Patti Love of the
Stephen Central School student council present a che-
que in excess of $200 to fellow student Connie Desjar-
dine. The Desjardine home on the B Line of Stephen
Township was destroyed'by fire on June 13.
Pentecostal WMS
The June. meeting of the
Women's Ministries of the
Pentecostal Taberncle was
held at the home of Mrs.
Doreen Erb with 13 members
present.
The meeting was opened by
singing "The Beautiful
Garden of Prayer". Mrs.
Jean Triebner led in prayer.
Mrs. Eleanor Little presided
at the organ.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by Mrs.
Shirley Prouty. The roll call
was answered with a verse
of scripture on "Garden".
Mrs. Mary Blanchard then
gave the financial report and
business was dealt with.,
Mrs. Ruth McLaren read
the testimony of a Christian
lady and also a poem entitled,
"A Blessing in disguise",
written by the same person.
Mrs. Edith Millar gave a
missionary reading. entitled,
"W.Ms are the Marthas and
Marys of Figi.
Miss Marian McLean gave
the message of the afternoon.
She gave a synopsis of a book
- The title of which was
"From Cod fishing to soul
fishing."
Prayer time followed and
Mrs. Iden DesJardine and
Mrs. Shirely Prouty served a
very delicious lunch.

RADIO FIELD DAY — Members of the South Huron
Amateur Radio Club held a two day test of their radio
equipment at the Tuckersmith farm of Ted Roberts.
Here Jim Mountenay and Harvey Adams (the club's field
day coordinator) attempt a contact on 10, 15 and 20
meter band equipment. The group contacted over 495
stations during the two day event.
