Girls Softball - Spring is here and its time for softball once again. the girls at Stephen have divided into 4 teams and have gotten the balls, bats and gloves out and are beginning . another year again. The teachers are the coaches and we're having a ball. Barbara Gallant. Canadian Basic Skills - After the exams at school the kids get a red book called Canadian Basic Skills. They have a number of tests for the different grades. These tests help teachersdetermine how well the students know their work. Russ Finkbeiner. Senior Choir Visitors - Wednesday. June 9 Choirs from Usborne. School and Clinton Public School came to our school. After each choir sangsome songs we had a snack of juice and a variety of food brought by our senior choir. Children of the congregation provided the program. Danny Weigand. Suzanne Smith and Lynn Gaiser played the piano: Randy' Hoffman the recorder; Ran- dy and Terry Hoffman recited the 23rd Psalm, a chorus, Kim, Randy and Terry Hoff- man and Trish Ormandy sang; Trish also read a poem. Mrs. Don Gaiser, president, dealt with the business. There were 15 members present. The Sunshine Committee is Mrs. Jack Gaiser and Mrs. Letta Taylor. A parcel for Care was sent to Africa. They will have a pie booth at Friedsburg Days. The ladies are happy that they could have four functions without paying the new tax. They are invited to Alma Col- lege Open House. August 22-25. Vacation Bible School will be held m Zurich Public School. Grade 5 to 11 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Everyone is welcome and a bus will pick up the ones from Dashwood. The Sunday School picnic is .June 27 with swimming at Jack Gaiser's pool and lunch at the church. Jayne Hayter met her sister Janice Oke of Saudi Arabia in London, England where they spent one week touring the ci- ty and surrounding area. Brad Oke, Saudi Arabia, join- ed them for a continental tour making stops in France, Spain and Portugal. They visited many historical sites which they found most in- teresting. Janice returned home with Jayne for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hayter.
