Unit Leader Mrs. Sharon Kirkby welcomed all then shared her Easter thoughts with everyone. The Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. Tops pick new slate Exeter Top's Chapter 339 election of officers for 1982' was held April 14. The new executive is as follows: Leader - Marion Miller. Co -leader - Marion Rader. Secretary - Carol Ross. Treasurer - Joyce Doupe. Weight recorder - Roberta Mortley and Marie Brunslow. Sunshine Girl - Cathy Skinner. Contest Con- vener - Carol Ross and Press reporter Vera Guenther. Coming Events are UCW Anniversary Sunday, May 2. Mrs. Thelma Russell reported on plans for a ' Fellowship hour after the ser- vice. Tickets are now available to sell for the Smorgasbord May 6. Mrs. Dolores Shapton reported on the ladies entry for Exeter Fall Fair. The theme this year is "Working with Wool" Bazaar work nights are April 19 and 26 at 7:30. Exeter Heritage Days July 16,17,18. Mrs. Alma Godbolt en- couraged the ladies to attend Huron Perth Presbyterial on the topic Battered Women. Mrs. Jessie Ross reported that an interesting article on acid rain in Mandate. Mrs. Carol Willard reported of upcoming events U.C.W. Conference, Westminster weekend. Alma College also Roots and Wings June 11-13 at Waterloo University. This was an interesting interview taken from the women that were at the Cross on the dal Jesus was crucified. Through the pain and suffering of these Women there is a joy. Prayer followed. Mrs. Maxine Sereda in- troduced Doreen Vink who as an International Agriculture Exchange Student had spent a year in Australia and Denmark. Everyone enjoyed slides taken of the countries she had visited and worked in. pur- pose is to establish ties with other countries, learn about agriculture; exchange ideas, plus make new friends. Doreen was thanked by Mrs. Mavis Atthill and presented with a gift. A pound auction followed which was enjoyed by all with Mrs. Maxine Sereda doing a very good job of auctioneer. A raffle was held on a lovely silk flower arrangement donated by sponsor, Mrs. Helen Frayne with the lucky winner being Janice Brock. Plans for Founders' Day to be held April 27 in Holmesville, were finalized as were final arrangements for the spring dance to be held May 1 at the Rec Centre in Exeter. Wine and cheese and relishes . and dip prepared by the Executive brought a lovely evening to a close. Nine-year-old Nancy stood by the gate in front of her house, looking into the street.
