I Well pumps need repair Council to review sewer pact Lucan council will be asking the village solicitor to check out an agreement received from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment regarding expansion of the sewage system. The agreement would allow the Ministry;to become the manager of the review of the sewage system to determine how much larger it should become and guide council in making a decision. According to Ministry of Environment figures, the present Lucartsewagesystem is over its capacity. At the same regular council meeting held Tuesday night, works superintendent Doug Johnston reported that the village's well pumps were in need of major repair and he felt an increase in water rates would be necessary. Johnston was instructed to come up with estimates of the repair and clerk Ed Melanson will estimate the 1982 revenue and council will decide if any increases are necessary. Deputy -reeve Norm' Steeper, chairman of the planning board reported that his group felt more flexibility should be given to commercial uses in an area of the Proof Line at the northern end of the village. Steeper said Lucan Home Decorating Centre has ap- plied for an amendment and rezoning, but, the planning board felt other properties in the area could be included. In his report deputy -reeve Steeper commended works superintendent Doug Johnston and his staff for the Scouters plan spaghetti meal The Lucan group com- mittee has been very busy finalizing plans for the an- nual Spaghetti dinner which will be held this year at the community centre, Tuesday, February 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available from all the Section Leaders and at Shaw's Dairy Store. Revival Centre .News. Sunday morning, Harold Fletcher played his guitar as he sang "Reach Out", a song written by his wife, Geri Fletcher. He ' then led the singing of Psalm 134. Rev. C.J. Williams read the Lord's SuPPer .in Luke 22:18-20. Keeping the ceremony of communion is a commandment of the Lord. Grape juice and bread were - common staples in Israel. Jesus used them to represent the remembering of His sacrifice. Should we remember Christ every time we eat? Yes, we should, as • God has provided for us. The same night one of His disciples was betraying Him, Christ broke the bread for His disciples. To be a committed disciple of Christ will cost us as we partake of the suffering. Our Christian life is being completely involved with Christ. Communion is participation with Christ. When we are hidden in Christ, we are protected. Our. dedication to God is equal to our pouring out of ourselves for God. Gary Schlegel ministered Sunday evening. He said people today talk more about what the devil is doing then what Jesus does. Satan at- tacks the young people to tempt them in drugs, sex, to follow the pattern of the world. 1 Samuel ;18:111 tells of David suddenly being thrust into the limelight. From being an unknown shepherd boy, David after killing Goliath, rose to a high. rank in the army, living in the king's house. But his success made the king jealous of him, trying to kill him. As king Saul tried to kill David with a spear, so satan trjes to pin the church to the wall. As David eluded Saul's spear, so Christians' can elude the devil by watchful living for God. David had to flee to protect his life. Today people who have no fear for their spiritual life find themselves pinned by satan's temptations. We need to feel to live fo r Christ, that will not allow us to give in to the temptation of the world.
