No shadow
My prognosis as to
whether the ground hog will
see his shadow this year or
not is no. "Why not?" you all
ask? Well, if I were'a ground
hog and lived in a - certain
field behind the Martin
house, no way would I
venture out. My house is
constantly at 55 degrees F,
no celcius for me.
I wear a really nice fur
coat that any lady would
envy, and besides, 'there's at
least 5 feet of snow blocking
my doorway. When I'd get
outside, my eyes would
1, due to snow -blocked roads.
A reminder! that the
euchre- party will be held
tonight, February 3 at the
Community Centre, weather
permitting. -
For the fourth week in a
row our Sunday's have been
whiteout stormy days,
making it impossible for
many country people to get
through driftedcountry
roads to attend church, or go
anywhere.
Congratulations! to Don

of a baby girl last Saturday,

water and it would be cold.
I'd only stay out a few
seconds, then zip, back into
my hole I'd go.
I'd have to wait for another
snow fall to fill in that tunnel
in the snow I had to make, to
get out; meanwhile, a lot of
cold air would be blowingin
on me. Why should I leave
my nest and dreams of green
• grass and garden lettuce
from the Haugh,Bowers and
Martin bounty to go out in
the cold? Not me.
I'm hibernating until about
April when the warm sun
shines down and melts all
this white stuff and those
neighbourhood kids on their
noisy snowmobiles are
reduced to walking and kite
flying.
