Church services
Mr. Lorne Thrower was in
charge of the regular church
service, Sunday. He told the
Children's Story.
The Scripture lesson was
taken from James 5,1-6. The
message was entitled
"Whats So Bad About Being
Rich?"
Mr. Thrower asked "Is
there anyone whc does not
want to be rich? If there is,
you may be the exception
rather than the rule."
"In light of our Scripture
this morning, should we
want to be rich? James says
that being rich is bad news.
Listen to what he says,
Come now. you rich. weep
and howl for the miseries
that are corning upon you.
"Are You Rich? .Just who is
James talking to when he is
addressing You Rich. Who
are they? Does that exlude
you and I? It must. because
if we are. we would probably
disclaim it."
"It is hardly possible that
you are another George
Westin, a I3ronfarn. a
Rockefeller. or a Howard
Hughes. Yet, as a nation and
country. we are one of the
wealthiest people in the en-
tire world. When we look at
ourselves. or compare
ourselves with our more
wealthy acquaintances. we
think we are the poor folks
