After a lively discussion
on the topic, lunch was serv-
ed by Joy Darling and Ann
Lorento.• An exchange of ex- •
cess garden produce brought
the evening to a close.
On September 29, a get
aquainted party for the
prospective new members
was held at Sharon
McNeilly's home. After
playing various games, a
DASHWOOD CRAFTS — Sharon Appleby and Chris Farrner both of Parkhill, displayed
their craft at a sale held in Dashwood, Saturday.

A family car rally was
held on Sunday, October 4,
with the social committee in
charge. Everyone left from
Janice and Bill Brock's
home with most eventually
ending up at Barb and Den-
nis Passmore's where coffee
and doughnuts were enjoyed
over a lively conversation of
everyone's experiences of
the afternoon.
The Car Rally trophy was
won by Barb and Larry
Ballantyne and girls with all
other competitors receiving
either a free car wash or a
road map for their efforts. It
• was a fun day for all.
The first meeting ot Oc-
tober was held at Joan,
Westerhout's home on Oc-
tober 6. A veryinteresting
program on "Child Rearing"
was presented by Sandra
Campbell and Barb
Passmore.
Lori Thompson, a social
worker with the Huron Cen-
tre for Children and Youth in
Clinton gave a very infor-
mative talk on the centre
and gave an indication of the
type of family problems they
become involved with in
Huron and surrounding coun-
ties. A short question period
followed concerning
problems in child rearing.
Four new girls have in-
dicated an interest in
becoming members of Alpha
Pi; these being, Lynda
Freiter, Joan Morgan, San-
dra Rowe, and Liz Taylor.
Their Pledge Ritual will be
held on November 17.
Several items of business
were then discussed with
president Susan Moore in
charge. followed by a
delicious lunch served by
Barb Ballantyne and Joan
Westerhout.
