decide who goes into A or B
divisions saw the Gunners
meet League leading A.C.

Nairn jumped into a 3-0
lead by half time but could
not extend the lead In the
second hall. The Gunners
mounted attack after attack
but could not get a goal.
Final result 3-0 for Nairn and
the Gunners were In the "B"
Division.
In "B" Division play the
Gunners were drawn against
Lucan II and got an early
lead when Jeff Burton scored •
his first goal of the season.
With the goal the whole team
sensed they could win and
really exerted pressure
getting 2 more goals, both

final league tilt
Despite not playing up to
par the Exeter senior
Centennial soccer team
managed to beat Taxandria
B's 2-1.
The Centennials were able
to control most of the play in
the first half but never
managed to get a good shot
on net. The first half ended in
a scoreless tie.
In the second half, The
Centennials played a bit
sloppy but managed to score
the first goal as forward
John Muller let go a long shot
which bounced over the
hands of the Taxandria
goalie.
It didn't take long for
Taxandria B to tie the score
as they came back minutes
later. The Centennials got a
break just before the end of
the game as winger Terry
Vandewalle passed to ventre

from Jason Heywood before
Lucan got one past goalie
David Schwindt. Heywood
finished off the scoring with
his first hattrick in the
second half.
The final game saw the
Gunners play Grand Bend.
This became a tough
grinding game in which
Exeter had most of the play.
Ryan I.indenfield saw his
efforts bounce off the
goalkeeper and the post and
Jason Hern had one picked
off his toes by an alert
goalkeeper.
It seemed the Gunners
could not buy a goal until
they were awarded a free
kick and placed it right at the
feet of Jason Heywood who
made no mistake tucking it
home.
Play continued very tight
in the second half after
Exeter replaced David Sch-
midt in net with Jason
Heywood. Grand Bend put on
some good pressure but
Heywood was equal to the
task and tried extra hard to
protect his one goal lead.
Towards the end of the
game the Gunners grew
stronger and kept the play in
Grand Bend thanks to ex-
cellent midfield play by
Jason Hern, Peter
McAllister anc. Richard
Phillips. Any chance that
Grand Bend gat was snufffed
out by full back Darryl
Beaver who played the game
of his life in back field.
One of his clearing passes
was picked up byDavidSch-
windt and relayed -towards
the Grand Bend net where a
scramble for the ball ended
when Jeff Burton slid into
the mess of players and
played the ball home for his
second on the day and the
insurance goal. Final result
2-0 for Exeter which gave
them the B Division trophy.
