Busy week
at resort
Provincial Police at the
Pinery Park detachment in-
vestigated two crashes
Wednesday. Damage was es-
timated at $1,000 in a single
car accident on highway 21
near Lambton Road 5.
Driver of the vehicle was
Harold Fremlin of Clinton.
There were no injuries in the
crash which was in-
vestigated by Constable L.
W. Weir.
That same day, Constable
R. L. Hodge investigated a
single car accident on Ann
Crescent. Bosanquet
township. Driver of the car,
Louis Hadaro of London,
sustained minor injuries.
Damage was estimatd at
$400.
During the week of June 28
to July 4. Pinery OPP laid 73
charges under the liquor
licence act, and 11 under the
highway traffic act. There
were 18 charges laid under
the provincial parks act, and
two narcotic control act
charges laid.
Four thefts were in-
vestigated, and one im-
paired driver was charged.
One attempted break and
enter was investigated and
two drivers were charged
for driving while under
suspension. In addition
Pinery OPP investigated 23
miscellaneous occurrences.
Pinery Corporal Steven L.
McFadden issued the follow-
ing warning for drivers:
"It is a proven fact
that seat belts save lives and
reduce the severity of in-
juries. Use of seat belts by
motorists has dropped from
a high of 79 in March of
1976 to approximately 55%
today. More effort will be
given to enforcement of seat
belt legislation in Pinery
Park Detachment area."
