Times-Advocate, 1978-10-05, Page 13 (2)Jets best is tie in two exhibition games The Lucan-llderton Jets completed exhibition play over the weekend in preparation for the opening of the regular season in the Ontario Hockey Association Continental senior league. The Jets were held to a 4-4 tie by the Woodstock Royals in Woodstock Friday night and Sunday afternoon they dropped a 5-3 decision to the Stratford-Pej1J The game was played at the new Lucan arena The Jets were m Chatham last -night, Wednesday to meet the newest team in the , league the Chatham Fords. The first -home game at the llderton arena will be _Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.. when the London Kings will supply the opposition. A good start Against Stratford Sunday, the Jets got off to an ex- cellent start as they scored the first two goals of the game and held a 2-1 edge al the end of the first 20 minutes of play. The game was less than a minute old when Lan :11cTavish put the Jets on the scoreboard. He converted passes from Brian Murphy and Bill White. Ed Robb put his club ahead 2-0 at the 1.0:11 mark as he tired the puck into the Stratford net on a, play started by captain Barry Baynharn and Gary Herr.
