The 50 happy youngsters swimming with their pyjamas on and eating soda .btseuits in the pool belong to this season's swim team. This. year . we are hoping to emphasize the fun to -be had from being a part -.o(..a "team". Each Wednesday night from 5:00 -6:00 -the pool will be used for special nights for the swim team. A swimathon, mini Olympics, parents vs. kids night are now being planned. This Saturday morning our team Will be hosting its first meet of the summer. TUBE RACE — Members of the Exeter swim team got a different sort of practice last Wedhes= day when they had to pull their instructor across the pool in o tire tube. Errors played a big role in the loss as -Patti Down held St. Marys to three hits but her mates had seven miscues. On .Monday. The children showed their interest in keeping their neighbourhood clean by participating_ in a garbage collection walk-a- thon on Monday through Huron Park. Visitors to the playground last week were Deb Wooden from the Exeter Swimming Pool, Jean Dunsfot'd from the • Huron County Health Unit and four of the firemen from the Huron Park Fire Department. The children enjoyed the visits from these people in their community who help them to be safe and healthy. This week is holiday week. Monday was a busy day with both valentines and Easter being celebrated. Tuesday the children dressed up as spooks and goblins as we pretended it was Hallowe'en. A party with .games and prizes for the best costumes was held in the morning. Wednesday about 50 children travelled 'by bus to Goderich to participate in a `play day sponsored by the Lake Huron Zone Recreation Association. Christmas in July was celebrated on • Thursday morning. The weekly movie show was run as well., A trip to the. Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London is planned for tomorrow as an ntroduction for next -week's home of Wild West Week.
