Tigers on win streak, on road for three tilts The Dashwood Tigers upped their w inning streak to four games in the Huron -Perth in- termediate baseball league Friday night with a convincing 15-4 victory over Arva. Five run rallies in each of the fourth and fifth innings provided the Tigers with enough scoring power to defeat Arva. The Dashwood club moved into a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Bob Hoffman walked, Perry Stover singled and both scored on a sacrifice by John Hayter and several Arva miscues. The visitors hit the scoreboard for the first time in the top of the second inning. Terry Bourne walked with two out and was able to come around to score. In the.. -bottom of the same frame, the Dashwood club upped their lead to 5-1. At Saturday night's annual banquet at Stratford, league officials were told by OHA vice- president Hugh McLean that the Continental league has been granted full Senior "A" status. McLean said the Continental league outdrew the senior "A" loop at the gate this past season and is on a more solid footing. The guest speaker, Bill Inkol of CKCO TV in Kitchener suggested the Continental league would play a major role in the resurgence of senior hockey in the province. Inkol said the reduction in professional hockey rosters would provide the league with an abundance of quality players. A team from St. Thomas -Port Stanley has been accepted for the 1975-76 season. The schedule will be drafted at a meeting set for July 18.
