By Michelle Ellison
A 5-4 loss to the Clinton Redmen
'in exhibition play gave the South
Huron District High. School Hockey
Panthers their second loss of the
young season on Friday.
Both teams had many good scor-
ing opportunities in thc close
match. Clinton opened the scoring
early in the first period but the Pan-
thers reacted quickly with two goals
by Alan Blommacrt and Harlcn Tin-
- ncy.
The second period• brought three
consecutive goals by Clinton before
Shawn .Moore found thc net to
make 'the score 4-3 going into the
third period. -
SH controlled much of the play in
the last period and once again had
many scoring opportunities. Final-
ly, late in the game, Steve Lingard
connected from Brian Moir and
Glenn Hayter to tie the game.
Unfortunately, Clinton came back
and put the puck past the Panther
goalie. With the Panthers net emp-
ty, they attempted to tic the game
but couldn't catch the Redman and
Clinton took home the 5-4 win.
