SARNIA - The Exeter Molting
Hawks on three games'in a Sarnia
tournament last wdekend, before
losing in the semif'• ' z- t to
Wingham.
On Friday_ night they edged St.
Catharines 8-6, as Pete McFalls led
the way with a hat -trick perfor-
mancc. Brian Hodgins added two
goals, while Ron Moore, Jim Pfaff
and Bob McDonald added single
goals.
Scott Burton had three assists,
Jack Chipchasc, Ron Moore and
Phil Turner added two. Ken Berg-
mann, Ernie Ahrens and Brian Hod-
gins added single assists.
Their second game saw them beat
London Jaar 4-1_ with Ron Moore,
Jack Chipchase, Ken Bergman and
Scott Burton scoring once each.
Ken Bergmann and Ron Moore each
had two assists, while Scott Burton
and Bob Jones added single assists.
Game three saw them cdgc Kitch-
ener 4-3 with Bob McDonald scor-
ing the tying and winning goals in
their come -from -behind win.

On Sunday, they lost the semi-
final game 3-1 with Ken Bergmann
scoring the ane goal. Glenn Stire
was strong in goal all weekend.
Last Monday night they lost to
Stratford 10-4. Ernie Ahrens had
two goals, while Ron Moore and
Jack Chipchase added one goal.
Bob Jones had two assists, Jack
Chipchasc, Jim Pfaff, Brian Hod-
gins and Ron Moore each chipped
in one.
Generals winning streak at five
EXETER - Exeter Kinsmen Gen-
erals ran their winning streak to
five games, in Shamrock Midget
League action last week with three
victories.
In Strathroy on Tuesday, the Gen-
erals downed the host team 4-3 with
a late goal by John Rooseboom on
assists from Jeff Chipchase and Jeff
Rowe. Chipchase had two goals to
lead Exeter with Rowe picking up
the marker. Harlen Tinney had two
assists and Shawn Guillut and Brett
Borden one each.
At home on Wednesday the locals
gained a 4-5 victory over St. Marys
in an exciting game at the Rec.
Centre. Todd McCann's goal, as-
sisted by Bruce Papple, gave Exeter
the 5-4 win after coming from back
from a 4-2 deficit.
The Generals opened the scoring
on a goal by Tom Rolph, from
Guillct, and Exeter led 2-1 after one
period with Papple scoring from
McCann and. Laurie Chalmers. Af-
ter St. Marys scored three straight
goals to takc the lead, the Generals
came back to tie on goals by Dave
Schwindt and Rolph with the only
assist going to Chalmers.
-In Parkhill -on Sunday, the Gener-
als spotted the home tcam a 1-0
lead on a goal by Jeff McGee assist-
ed by Paul Vanhocvdonk and Ranch
Chambers.
Exeter ticd the score on a goal by
Alan Blommaert assisted by Rolph
and Papple and then took the lead
When Rowe found the mark with
help from Chipchasc and Rolph.
John Bell then scored, assisted by
McCann and Chalmers and Roose-
boom rounded out the scoring
again, assisted by McCann and
Chalmers.
Brent MacDonald was in -goal -for
all three games as the Generals ran
their record to 7-2-3 for the season.

Curling season starting
EXETER - Curling has started in
many area clubs and an exciting sea-
son is planned.
Men, ladies and students can par-
ticipate weekly at various times for
fun and exercise. Many bonspiels
have been organized to give more
'Purling events for everyone.
Southern Ontario Ladies Curling
Association is divided into 16
. zones. Our local zone consists of
clubs from Belmore, Vanastra,
Goderich, Harriston, Kincardine, Ri-
pley, Seaforth, Teeswater, Wing-_
ham and Exeter.
Five different competitive events
arc held in each zone e.g. Provin-

bers and Watford played to a 1-1 tic

urday afternoon, in Lambton-
Middlesex Hockey League action.
The home team took a 1-0 lead on
Brian Parsons goal, from Wayne
Cole at 7:57 of the first period.
Watford tied the game in the next
period, John Timmers scoring from
Trevor Crawford and Brad Smith,
mid way in the second.
Exeter had many good chances to
get the winner of the third period,
but neither team could and it ended
in a draw.

erals ran their winning streak to
