District Deputy President of London 27A, Sister Vi Higgs, was welcomed and six sisters from Ildenon accompa- nied her. Officers of Pride of Huron "Draped the Charter" in loving memory of Sister Audrey White- head, Assembly Past President. Acting Chaplin Mary Fisher P.G. and Sister Mavis Atthill J.N.P.G. took part in the ceremony. Vice Grand Elly VanBcrgen re- ported the ' sting committee had been busy. Gct well wishes had been sent out to Sisters Myrtle Orr, P.G., Marg Cook, P.G. and Helen . London Foundation donates to Playhouse GRAND BEND - Communica- tion. That is what live theatre is all about! And The London Foundation has made it possible for the Huron Country Playhouse to increase it s efficiency of communication within the back -stage areas of both the Main Stage and in Playhouse II. A donation in the amount of 55,768.00 by The Foundation will cover the costs of installing a two- way communication system; a bad- ly needed addition to the technical requirements of Huron Country Playholrc. With this new equipment, the Playhouse can better manage the 'timely' details of running two shows in two theatres at the same time. You, the audience will be the benefactors of this improvement in operation. The Playhouse wishes to thank The London Foundationfortheir support, not only to theatres; but to so many other worthwhile endeav- ors. Sister Mavis Atthill JPNG re- ported the Humanitarian Services committee donated to the -Survival Through Friendship House, Family and Childrens' Service and Town and Country Homemakers. Sister Mavis invited everyone to come to the next euchre party December 14 in the lodge hall. • The Rebekah Christmas dinner and meeting will be at the Exeter United Church on December 7 at 6:30. There will be a gift exchange. Sister Elaine Skinner will repre- sent Pride of Huron at the "United Nations" meeting held in Clinton on November 22 and her project for the year is a beautiful beige afghan. Tickets can be bought from any Lodge sister. Birthday wishes went out to Sis- ter Gladys MacDonald. . Miss Kathy MacNaughton of II- derton was the guest speaker for the evening. She competed with 106 fair queens at the C:N.E: She reigned as "Queen of the Fairs" in the summer of 1988. She had been sponsored by Pasley Memorial Re- bekah Lodge for the Ilderton fair in 1987.
