Broncos drop two games
On Saturday the Exeter Broncos
travelled to Strathroy, and lost 3-1.
Marty DeBruyn scored the only
goal on a solo dash just 21 secon is
into the game.
Strathroy tied the game midway
through the first period. The Bron-
cos appeared tired in the third period
and Strathroy capitalized with two
more goals.
The Broncos hosted St. Marys on
Sunday, but came up short on a 4-2
score. Chris MacDonald scored the
only goal in the first period.
Ben Guenther and Kevin Ross as-
sisted. St. Marys then scored four
times before Marty DeBruyn
notched the last marker of the
game.
Jason Lindenfield played superb
in net while saving several good
scoring chances by St. Marys.
The Broncos travel to Ilderton on
Saturday and are back home?.on
Sunday.
Novice Ringettes tie
After losing 7-0 to Godcrich on
November 5, Exeter Novice Rin-
gettes tied Forest 5-5, on Saturday
November 12.
Meagan Raiz played a good game
in goal for Exeter. 7
Jayne Ballantyne scored four
goalsfor Exeter with two assists
from Theresa Wilhelm, and singles
from Julie Godbolt and Cathleen
Chappel. Sarah Hamilton scored
one goal with Melissa Hayter as-
sisting.
Kelly Regier, Carolyn Quinn and
Theresa Wilhelm played very strong
defence for Exeter. Alicia Lawrence,
Cathleen Chappel, Julie Godbolt
and Sarah Hamilton played a power -
and Charlie Lupton, trying.to get the puck over 'to Clarke. Tavistock won the ful game as forwards.

Panthers end regular season winning

EXETER - Last Wednesday,
South Huron District High
School's girl's basketball teams
ended regular season play at South
Huron against Mitchell.
The- Senior girls easily defeated
the Blue Devils 48-29. The Pan-
thers opened a very convincing 38=6
lead in the first half of play. •
The girls continued to out play
Mitchell inthesecond•half, to win
the .game and advance them to the
quarter finals against St. Mary's on
Friday which they won 39-25.
Laurie Forrester scored a total of
-21 points for the Panthers. Forrest-
er was followed by Heather Rideout
with 10 points and Michelle Elli-
son with six.
The junior Panthers played a
tough game against a very competi-
tive Mitchell. tram. The Blue Dev-
ils held the Panthers to a 16-13
count at half time.

keep on winning
LUCAN - The Lucan Irish im-
proved its Westcrn Junior D North
Division first -place standings by .
winning two more hockey games
last'week, upping their record to 9-
2.
Friday night, Lucan edged Tavis-
tock Braves in Tavistock 4-3 and
Wednesday night 'Irish beat Brussels
Bulls 9-5 at the Lucan Alcna.
Dean Doerr picked up the winner
for Irish, with 9:15 left in the final
period, to defeat Tavistock.

first period, to once for Bulls, and
never looked back. Lucan added two
more in the second and three more
in the third.
Lucan had nine different -goal .
scorers in this game. David Murray,
Darren Neil, Hirtzell, Colin Tel-
ford, Barnes, Rick Weishar, Tim
Hayter, Scott Denomy and Todd
Hayter all found the mark for Irish.
Muir and Dcnomy led in the set
up department with three each,
Doerr, Tim Hayter, and Barnes each
picked up a pair and singles went to
Hirtzell, Todd Hayter and David
Hinge.
Next game for the Irish is tonight
whcn Scaforth will be at the Lucan
Arena fora 8:15 game. Friday night
they travel to Mitchell for an 8:30
p.m. game.

made quite a come back almost
catching the Panthers. Fortunately,
South Huron pulled together for a
36-32 win.
Julia Merner gave South Huron
12 points. Carrie Oke followed
with 11 and Sheryl Oke added five.
The Midget girls lost a closely -
matched game to the Blue Devils.
In an earlier league game, South
Huron lost to Mitchell by a disap-
pointing three points.
Wednesday's game proved to be
just as disappointing as the girls
-lost 4543.
Although the team had some op-
portunities in the last quarter of the
game, they failed to take advantage
of them.
Kerry Manders played very well,
leading South Huron with. 22
paints. Angela Gould added 13 and
Carrie Suc Kyle also had three
points. Kyle led the team in offen-
sive and defensive rebounds.
Melissa Hayter and Jayne Ballan-
tyne played well as centre players.
Forest had three goals scored by
Deanna Fraleigh, with singles from
Amy Goodhand and Karla Kerrigan.
