Lun Church makes commitment
LUCAN a A very special com-
mitment has been made by mem-
bers of our community. Members
of Holy Trinity Anglican Church
Sunday School, Lucan,` Ontario,
have become foster parents.
Through Foster Parents Plan of
Canada they have "adopted" little
Michael of the Philippines. The
Members' small monthly contribu-
tion brings help to the Foster
Child, his family and the communi-
ty.
The objective is not dependency,
but to help the family become inde-
pendent and self-supporting,
through programs of medical and
dental care, vocational training, and
counselling by social workers. AB
programs are adapted to the needs of
the people, and tend to be concen-
trated in rural areas where the whole
community can benefit through the
provision of wells, schools, and
much more. Education is stressed,
and all school-age members of Fos-
ter Families are encouraged to• at-
tend school. Foster Parents are ad-

LUCAN - Sunday morning Jun-
ior Girls Estee Rancourt, Karen
Dance, and Cherise Wuerch happily
sang Clap Your Hands, and Sing
Everybody. Miss Lauren Harrison
led the Junior Church in a skit To
obey is better than sacrifice.
Andree Rancourt brought money
to pay his way. Cherise Wuerch
showed others the Bible says to
obey God is better than offerings.
Finally, both Andree and Cherise
knelt to pray, while angels Estee
and Karen stood over them in bless-
ing.
Pieter Schinkleshoek spoke about
faith, hope and love from 1 Corin-
thians 13, where God speaks to us
about love. A person may be a gift-
ed speaker, or a prophet, or give to
the poor, and do good acts, but un-
less these are done in love, verse 2
says he is nothing. Faith, hope, and
love, are the guidance for Chris-
tians, with greatest being love.

Peter Schinkleshoek conducted
the Sunday evening service. Mrs.
Jane Bend sang My God is Able.
Verle Bend, fourth year student at
Christianview Bible College, as
guest speaker, from Acts 10:9-23,
reviewed Peter had been raised as a
strict Jew, not eating any forbidden
food. Chosen by God to give the
message of Jesus of forgiveness of
sins, Peter had to learn a lesson
from God in a vision of unclean
foods, not to call anything impure
that God had cleansed.
This vision showcd Peter Gcxt
wanted him to go to minister to a
Gentile, a Roman centurion, who
feared God. Mr. Bend closed reading
John 17:17.
