to both of them. •
In .his sermon, Father Beck dis=

Christ's Church is in no danger of
disappearing; it will last until the
end of time.
There will be an Open House at

ORPHA Club meets
By Roberta Walker
GRAND BEND -.Members of the
ORPHA- Club met at the home of
Mary Barbour with 13 ladies
present. For the opening, Dorothy
Cutting read "Give Lavishly". l
Their next meeting will be at the
home of Marg Hedley on December
5 for the Christmas party. -
Each member is asked to bring
sandwiches and tarts, and to bring in
all donation os toys and knitting for
'the Children's Aid Society. A cash
donationwill also be sent to the
Children's Aid at the December
meeting.
At last week's meeting the ladies
saw an old photo album of dona-
tions and meetings from meetings
of yesteryear, going all the way
back to the 1950s. It was interest-
ing to sec how things had changed
over the years.
Irene Kennedy thanked Mary Bar-
bour for hosting the club and Beu-
lah Holt closed the meeting with
"Candle Poem".
Three new members were wel-
comed to the club, and were intro-

S1-IPKA - Several arca folks here
attended and helped at the annual
hot turkey supper at Grand Bend
United Church last Wednesday
night. More than 400 were out for
the delicious meal.
Being a member of the United
Church 1 know it takes a lot of
community effort and working to-
gether to make it a successful
event. Plans begin weeks in ad-
vance when the turkeys and vegeta-
bles, bread for dressing are ordered,
the advertising and tickets looked
after.
Then - the last two days the
church kitchen is a hive of activity
as turkeys are stuffed, vegetables
peeled, tables set up.
But it all seems worthwhile as
you enjoythe sumptuous meal,
topped off with every' variety of
home made pie.
Mike and Donna (Baker) Yarrow
arrived last Saturday in Ontario
from Winnipeg fora week's holi-
days. Supper guests Sunday night
with Ken and Ortha Baker, were the
Yarrows. Ken and Carol Baker of
Goderich, Don Sharon and Jamie
Baker and Gary. Sheona and Jeffrey
Baker, all of Shipka. .

During this meeting, we had to
make up for lost time:
The members enjoyed the meal
which consisted of Beef Kabob,
Pork and peaches, cacsar salad with
bacon and different types of sausage
such as: liverwurst, knackwurst and
beerwurst. -
The next meeting is to held at
Bonnie Hotson's on Tuesday, No-

likely be the final so we can get our
exhibit ready for the 4-H Achieve-
