UCW meeting held at Crediton

was our minister at Zion United
Church and he chose for his topic
"Which Jesus".
Choir practice will be Wednesday
evening at 8:00 p.m. in the Sunday
School rooms. If there is anyone
who would like to help the choir
out singing, it would sure be appre-
ciated. Seems like every week it
gets smaller and smaller, but we try
out best with the few we have:
Rev. Bob Peebles will be our in-
terim minister starting next Sunday.

In hospital at St. Joseph's Hospi-
tal is Mrs. Irene Schlenker. Mr.
Stefan Pcrtschy has returned home
from St. Joseph's London. At Uni-
versity Hospital Mrs. Erma Krueg-
er, at South Huron , Exeter, Mr.
Emcry.Gaiscr.
Mr. Jack Jcsney returned home
Friday from South Huron Exeter.
Wishing all those sick a speedy re-
covery.
Crediton UCW
The U.C.W. meeting was held
Thursday, November 3. Evelyn
Pickering and Mary Kenney were iri
charge of devotions. Theme was "Be
still before the Lord".
Evelyn, Mary, Jean Neil and Jan-
ette Lamport presented a short skit
entitled "Plan or Puzzle" showing
that God has a plan for all, and that
"All Things work together for good
to those that love the Lord". Evelyn
read a poem "In Flanders Fields"
closing with a hymn and a Bible
quiz.
Mary Kenney presided for the
business. We received an invitation
to Mt. Carmel bazaar at Dashwood
Community Centre on November

the Sunday School concert on De-

The Crediton Women's Institute
is sponsoring an open house on
Waste Management at 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, November 16. Waste
Management Coordinator for Huron
County, Jo -Anne Richter will be
the guest speaker. Residents are in-
vited to bring their ideas and ques-
tions.
Stan and Shirley Preszcator were
the winners of 51,000 in Friday
night's Monte Carlo elimination
draw sponsored by the Crediton and
District Social Club.
Winners of 525 each were Mary
Rogan, Dwayne Ritchie, Don Win-
ter, Gwen Lynn, Dianne Dearing,
Lynda Lippert, Helen Patterson,
Chris Hope, Wayne Carroll, Doc
Mc Lcod.
The club wishes to thank all who
participated by purchasing tickets.
To start Thames Road Youth group

THAMES ROAD - Rev. Sheila
Macgregor was in charge of the reg-
ular church service. We sang the
children's hymn "Praise His '
Praise Him", and Rev. Sheila gave''
the children's message "Can I Be
Trusted" which was quite impres-
sive.
The choir sang accompanied by
the organist Miss Agnes Bray. The
Old Testament Lesson was read
from I Kings 17:8-16 and from
New Testament Mark 12:38-44.
The sermon was entitled "Holding
Back".
Meetings
The Youth Group starts Thurs-
day, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. at
the manse. All high school or sen-
ior elementary students welcome.
The Official Board will meet
Thursday, November 17 at 8 p.m.
at Thames Road Church.
Personals
Get well wishes are extended to
Reg Hodgert and Bill Rohde who
have undergone surgery. Reg is
home and Bill expects to be this
week..
Hallowe'en passed without any
occurrences. A lot of little and big
people called for treats.
Wilfred and Viola Hunkin were
members of the Canadian Miniature
World of Wheels Tour which spent
Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the
Annual National Toy Show at
