EXETER - Officers of .the Exeter
detachment of the Ontario Provin-
cial Police investigated seven motor
vehicle accidents during the past
week.
On Monday, October 31 at 8.30
a.m., .vehicles driven by_ Wilfred
Turnbull of Vancouver and Marion
Stucky, RR 1. Da_ shwood collided
on Highway 83, near Concession
road 6-7 in Stephen township.
Damage was light to both vehicles.
Tuesday at 2.30 p.m., a vehicle
driven by Frank Leishman, London
went out of control on sidcroad 20-
21 in Stephen township and struck
a ditch. Vehicle damage was moder-
ate and a passenger Leanne Du-
charme suffered minor injuries. The same day at 3.55 p.m. vehi-
cles operated by Kenneth Hovius,
Hcnsall and Donald Boersma, RR 1,
Exeter were in collision on the Hen -
salt Co -Op parking lot.
A vehicle driven by Linda Ging-
rich, RR 2, Zurich struck .a deer
while travelling on Highway 83 at
6 p.m., Thursday. The animal. was
killed.
Damage was listed as moderate
when a vehicle driven by Jill Li-
sieckj, RR -5, Parkhill went out of
control on Highway 4, near Hay
township road 25-26 and struck the
ditch. The mishap occurred at 7.39
a.m., Friday.
The -same evening at 7,-.12 p.m.
vehicles driven by Kenneth Baker,
Huron Park and Debra Pfaff, RR 3,
Exeter .collided` at the intersection
of Huron county roads 4 and 21::
Saturday at 4.10- p.m., vehicles
operated by Mafalda Giroux, Lon-
don and Donald Rathwctt, RR 1,
Varna were in collision on Huron
road 21, near Canada -Avenue at Hu-
ron Park.
During the week, OPP officers
laid 54 Highway Traffic Act charg=
es, 14 under the Liquor Licence Act,
apprehended three impaired drivers
and issued 12 hour driving licence
suspensions to six drivers.
Lucan OPP
LUCAN -The Ontario Police in
Lucan investigated 61 general oc-
currences and nine motor vehicle ac-
cidents during the past week. No
major occurrences were reported on
Hallowe'en. ,
Two Minor damage complaints
were received: one involving an arm
chair set on fire in Lucan, and the
other being, a mail box -set on fire
in the Lucan arca. •,
-Two of the ninc accidents investi-
gated involved personal injuries and
property damage was•'not severe.
Winter driving conditions arc ap-
proaching and. 'licit -arrival usually
results in many minor accidents.
Dri-vers forget about slippery
- roads during our first few snowTalls
so please slow down and take extra
care when. driving. Avoid sliding
into (flicks or other vchicics by be-
ing a winter driver.
Investigations: included an at-
tempted break-in id Lucan, six dam-
age complaints and seven thefts.
Five of the theft reports involved
items stolen from parked vehicles at
LucanArena
During the evening hours on Oc-
tober 30, unlocked vehicles,.parkcd
at Lucan Arend, were entered and 26
cassette tapes, a fire extinguisher,
canned ..pop and. tools were. taken.
Potted arc still investigating these
thefts.
Anyone who witnessed these
thefts or who has information con-
cerning them arc requested to con-
