Fall is a glorious time
By DOUG McNAIR
AILSA CRAIG - isn't fall a glo-
rious time of year? The nip of the
air in the morning, the purple blue
fluffs of clouds in the blue, blue
skies put a fresh lilt into your step!
Of course the morning we woke up
to all that white stuff, we wondered
if our fall was cut short!
The Craigwiel Day Centre Sen-
iors got all primed up for our Au-
tumn Colour' Tours with Ruth's
"Seasons Slide Shows." Our trusty
van took two different groups on a
meandering route to and from the
Pinery Provincial Park. The chang-

B111 Martin spent a lot of time comparing the bigger
institutions with 'Standard Trust so what did he decide?
'I just didn't like lining up in the corral'. And 1 guess I'm
old fashioned enough to really appreciate a friendly
greeting from people who are genuinely Interested in
looking after my account. where 1 can feel like a person
and not just a number
'That's why my wife and I switched to Standard Trust.
Everybody is so nice to us if you ask me Standard Trust
lc an excellent place t(i do your saving. Big enough So you
feel your savings are safe but small enough to give good
service
There are a lot of good reasons why so many people are
switching to Standard Trust. Drop.in and ask your Ibcal

ing colours in the scenery was love-
ly!
The farms with crops at various
stages of harvest and the homes sur-
rounded with flower beds at their
best were a sight to behold. The
Pine Dale Restaurant ably served us
lunch both days. Both groups spot-
ted some deer, although the second
day's group seemed to have some
inside joke about the• ones they
saw! It was a rollicking good time
anyway!
Do you know what V-8 juice can
do for tired footsies? Our seniors
have discovered the•secret and just
may share it at our craft sale No-
vember 25. We've turned V-8 into
real flower -power!
Everyone who attended the Friday
before Thanksgiving had thc oppor-
tunity to make and take home a dec-
oration for their door or entrance
way. It's surprising what •a cob of
corn, a few weeds and a ribbon can
do to perk things up.
- Now for our really BIG news!
Our ceramics kiln is in operation
and we're having a hall painting all
kinds of ceramics. We're anxious to
get enough painicd for a kiln full so
WC can sec the finished product.
That- won't be long, at the rate of
enthusiasm that has been shown so
far. We've got lots of Christmas
trees to (1o, so don't be surprised if
you meet one of us on the street
humming "0 Christmas Tree, 0
Christmas Trcc."
If you do, we won't mind at all if
you stop us to ask questions and to
inquire how and when you could
join the fun!
