Junior Panthers lose
1-0 to Listowel Lords
By Michelle Ellison
On Thursday, the Junior Panthers
ended up at the short end of a 1-0
score against the Listowel Lords.
This game definitely doesn't break
the unlucky streak the team seems
to have fallen into. As usual, Slf's
chances at victory were there but
the Panthers couldn't manage to
take them.
-Late in the first quarter; Listowel
scored a single on a punt through
the end zone.
In the sccond quarter, SH had
their chance at a single but a penal-
ty,for no yards was given and there-
fore the Panthers missed their
chance to tic up the game.
The Panthers moved the ball well
in the second half but refused to.al-
low themselves to score as they
fumbled: At one point, SH had
moved the ball to the one -yard line
and had fourth down and one to go,
but the Lords stopped. them there.
With one minute left. in the
game, the Panthers ran a couple of
successful plays and were close to
scoring once again on the third
down..This time they attempted to
punt for a single but as b rc a
penalty was called for n. ards and
the Panthers dr • pe t c game 1-0.
Head coa Davc Cox, felt that
the team uld have won but they
didn't pla ell enough to'deserve
the win. The team is -scheduled to
play Stratford Northwestern d't
'home on Thursday.
