CREDITON On Sunday, Octo-
- ber 16 the elders and congregation -
of Zion United Church met in the
Sunday School rooms to wish
Rev. Brian, Mary, Robert, Phillip
and Janet Elder farewell. The Elders
are leaving for their new charge at
-Port Dover on Monday, October
31.
Speeches were given by Ross
Pickering, Evelyn Pickering, Leila
Finkbeiner,- Rev. Deborah Carter
and Harry Schroeder. -
The Elders were presented with a
beautiful occasional chair. Brian
and Mary have been here for 9 1/2
years, the longest any minister has
stayed. Their friends_ at Zion are
sure going to miss them and wish
them all the best. Come back and
visit us soon.

Crediton and District- Social
Club held their October meeting
on Tuesday, October 11 and mem-
bers' wives were invited.
After the short meeting euchre
was played and winners were as
follows: Ladies high, Marion
Hodgson, men's high Bill Dixon;
ladies lone hands Doreen Finkbcin-
cr, men's high - cut for card be-
tween six was Ted Wales; ladies
low ina Browning; men's low Ka-
thy Winter who played a man's
hand.
Happy 30th anniversary was
sung to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ryan.
Lunch was served by the lunch
committee
On October 22, at 9:00 p.m. is
our Hallowe'en dance with the
Crystallers playing. Come out and
support your club, all you mem-
bers and bring a guest and dress up
for the occasion.
Celebrate anniversaries
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Smith cele-
brated their 49th wedding anniver-
sary on October 14 and Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Slaght their 32 on
October 13. Thcy celebrated to-
gether at Robindale's Exeter where
they had a delightful evening and
ended the evening at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Mantcy, Exeter.

Seniors enjoy trip to Elmira
EXETER - A bus -load of seniors
from Exeter and Grand Bend enjoyed
a trip to Elmira and Kitchener last
Wednesday.
In Elmira they had a guided tour
of the buggy factory, a Mennonite
clock place and the Mennonite fam-
